Cassiopeia; A Gameplay Update

This idea has been given by someone and I am building off of it, where Cassiopeia becomes a pure (true and true) damage over time poison mage. So this idea will have absolutely no front loaded damage and all damage is back ended that requires ramp up time on targets.

Basic Attack Range: 550 units Movement: 335 units per second

Venom (Passive): Cassiopeia's abilities apply stacks of Venom for the next 3 seconds with each stack dealing 6(+3%AP) magic damage over the duration stacking infinitely.

Noxious Blast (Q): Cooldown: 4 seconds; Cost: 50 Mana; Range: 850 units After a brief delay, Cassiopeia blasts the target area to apply 2/3/4/5/6 stacks of Venom to struck enemies.

Cassiopeia gains 20% bonus movement speed for 3 seconds if she strikes an enemy champion with Noxious Blast.

Miasma (W): Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds; Cost: 40/50/60/70/80 Mana; Range: 850 units Cassiopeia throws a cloud of poison to the target area that slowly expands over 7 seconds slowing enemies within by 25/30/35/40/45% for 2 seconds and applying 1 stack of Venom per half-second to enemies within the poison.

Twin Fang (E): Cooldown: 5 seconds; Cost: 20/30/40/50/60 Mana; Range: 700 units Cassiopeia fires fangs at her target to apply 2 stacks of Venom and heal Cassiopeia for 4/8/12/16/20(+5%AP) health. Twin Fang increases all poison damage against its target by 10/15/20/25/30% for 1 second.

If the target was poisoned then Twin Fang's cooldown is reduced to 0.5 second.

Petrifying Gaze (R): Cooldown: 120/110/100 seconds; Cost: 100 Mana; Range: 825 units; Angle: 80 degrees After a brief delay, Cassiopeia blasts enemies in a cone to slow them by 60% for 2 seconds, if they were facing Cassiopeia then they are stunned instead for 2 seconds, and struck enemies gain 5/10/15 stacks of Venom applied to them.

I'm not sure on how this would really work. The idea is very interesting but the numbers seem... light years beyond unplayable?

RQWEEE, for example (let's say 4 procs of W) will only do 186 (+ 93% AP). That's... a full combo that does less than a bunch of abilities... and it takes three seconds to do that.

I understand the concept of the rework is that Cass needs to be constantly hitting you with poisons so the numbers for a quick combo need to be underwhelming, but this seems like she'd be completely incapable of poking (max rank Q does... 36 (+ 18% AP)) and incapable of doing an all-in unless it goes on for... 20 seconds?

The "ramp up" necessity is far too harsh, it could take a full minute, if not more, to actually 100-0 someone with this kit. She has no waveclear whatsoever because she's not allowed to do damage unless she's sticking to her target constantly and... yeah, it just screams impractical overall.

I'd also question the clarity here - I think the concept is cool but people would find it very difficult to read how and why they're taking the damage they are, much more than they do now.

Wave clear is still there since Q and W are AoE and minions will sit in the poison

But the concept is have her late game be insanely good and her back end damage being super high; and as long as you have mana you can ramp up stacks quickly with E plus it deals increased damage as long as you up keep your E going on a target- Q is pretty spammy too if you can land it

have insane sustain damage and pretty good utility I think makes Cassiopeia more unique than what she is now; but do you think her ranges would need to go up then with a pure poison stacking concept?

EDIT: In ramp up time, it can always be adjusted as in the abilities can grant more stacks if the ramp up feels a little too slow, but the concept is a weaker upfront and much stronger back end- which make her scaling evening better as a hyper mage with all her sustain damage

revert her rework to how she used to be new cass vs old cass new cass would lose.

Old cassiopeia was never a super interesting champion, I feel like a dedicated sustain damage poison identity makes her more interesting to play as and this feels more fun to play to me than the previous iterations of Cassiopeia

the oldest iteration of Cassiopeia was not in the most healthy spot for the game, because if she ever was popular then Riot would have to just nerf it because old cass was strong an early game lane bully, still strong mid game, and scaled extremely well late game with all her sustain damage and CC --- so you need to decide to make her early, mid, or late game focused with mid game being allowed to a part of early or late game focus identity, but cannot be a part of all three --- since Cassiopeia was created as a sustain damage mage Riot decided to go with a hyper mage identity and went with her scaling as the option, which I agree with Cassiopeia being a sustain damage hyper mage

Problem with the current iteration with Cassiopeia is that it is going for her hyper mage status, but in a lazy way; they half-assed her forcing her to be a late game but forcing a weak early game without making appropriate changes so you just have an awkward snake lady --- my concept puts her into that hyper mage status, but with mana sustain items and levels for her abilities (and the obvious with AP items, rylais, archangels. roa, deathcap, etc) rather than some mini game that forcefully negates cass on a timer (which is the lazy aspect with current cass) so here if you are good on cassiopeia and get ahead you can snowball appropriately like other champions that get bonus exp and gold, but you aren't some super dominating lane bully to go with your hyper scaling

Hopefully you understand now to why Riot changed Cassiopeia initially, it is because she was strong in all aspects and there was no point in the game she was considered weak and can be exploited

New Cass has a better early game then old Cass . old Cass was 10 times better at team fights. New Cass is a 1v1 champ not a team fight champ. What they could do is borrow from smite like how the god serqet.

People already complain about things like League and Dota 2 having both female archers, despite them being drastically different

Anyways, Cassiopeia had a super strong early game, mainly because of her old passive which granted insanely low mana costs so you can spam your Twin Fangs in the early game without mana items and win every trade on top of your poison damage--- Cassiopeia's core kit has not really changed at all, it is just the passive really

Vote items has changed dramatically for starters. Before rush liamdrys and rylais you can melt anyone and I could careless about spamming twin fangs before because your q and w were your damage . now your just there in team fights for your ult because your damage is a 1v1 damage on account of how she works now and she is stronger early game now then before because twin fangs deals more damage and that's what Cass relies on .

Stop trying to make her a poison Mage. Like what's with people and this "poison Mage" thing. She was designed to have a primary damage be poison. She had poison in her kit to make her E do explosive damage

Right now, cass is not in the best spots because of her passive. Her passive is a gated scaling. This means even if you do well in lane or early on, you can't scale faster. It sounds good to prevent snowballing but she is like one of few champions that have it. This gives her the status, "feast or famine". Because if you do bad in lane, you slow down the scaling to the point that she is useless. Yet if you do well, you don't scale faster; you scale normally.

riot needs to remove the gates carry. Most of the passive can be added to her abilities. Healing can kick in right away, it's not unheard of, Ahri has it. Her % ap can be added to base scaling as you level up and ratios. Her cd reduction only affects her ult. She also needs some qol buffs. Finally, it's time they looked at her W; it's an ability that really feels out of tune with the game. It needs to be reworked to have another effect the longer you stay on it

Cassiopeia is a poison mage; and she was created to be more and a high sustain damage version of Anivia

No she fucking is not, and no she fucking was not.

Fucking idiotic worthless piece of shit trash crap losers are on some recently popular Cassio change-train.

That e idea is probably the worst nonsense I've ever read.

Shut the fuck up, and leave Cassio alone.
