So shaco has been pretty much gutted. But one playstyle has been buffed tremendously.

Support shaco is in a fantastic position! You have a lot of early lane power with your boxes, and transition into an okay AP poke support with about 300AP and 2400 health. With liandries and smart box placement, you can be absurdly annoying at all stages of the game due to how boxes scale. Coupled with the current E execute damage, you can also pick up a TON of kills across the course of a game. well, a ton for an off-support.

So while AD shaco was gutted, AP shaco was gutted, support shaco is in the best state its been in years.

At, as you said, 300 AP, Shaco would deal:

Pre-Rework: 510 Damage or 612 With Backstab

Post-Rework - Pre-Nerf: 395 Damage + 8% missing health This leads to the target needing to miss 1500 health for the E to deal the same damage as pre-rework, or 2700 missing health to match an E backstab.

Now: 350 Damage + 8% missing health This one needs at least 2000 missing health to deal as much damage as old E, and 3300 missing health to deal as much damage as an E backstab.

Unless you're referring to the added 15 seconds that 300 AP would give to his boxes, which can be quite powerful, or the gimmick mini boxes on his ult, I don't think AP Shaco is in that much of a better spot.

Pre-rework shaco support revolved around maxing E, post rework revolves around placing boxes while invisible, and being as annoying as possible. His boxes right now do a LOT of damage and last a lot longer.

Problem is Shaco's early game mana pool is so small you'd be lucky to get down 2 q and 3 boxes without running out of mana.

I actually have a lot of experience with support Shaco:

AP isn't very good and it's very snowbally. You fall too far behind to be useful if you lose lane. Your main damage comes from box level scaling, not actual AP. The optimal build is a bruiser build, with Sunfire Cape, Titanic Hydra, Iceborn Gauntlet, etc. This ensures that even if you fall behind, your team has a tank. None of these stats were buffed and a lot of his damage was nerfed. Support Shaco hasn't been buffed at all.
