Come look at the negitive mentality impact from excessivly low "streak" values.
Some of yall seem to be suffering and tilting because of "streaks" so here is yet another post trying to help folks understand numbers a lil. My hope is the folks who start to lose their cool when the see a "streak" End, or find themselves on a "Loss streak" understand the likelihood of this happening, even with proper 50/50 odds.
Lets make some basic assumptions. Tilt = frusturation level that negitivly impacts your gameplay and choises. Tilt is what makes folks pick a new role or champion over a polished main in ranked. What makes folks flame teamamtes over minor errors, What makes players want to just give up a game.
I am here to tell you that If you use 3 for your "streaks" that's an awful value. Mind as well just use 2. You think 2 is to low for a streak? Why? Cuz its the absolute bare minimum to qualify for the term? So.... 3 being the literal next lowest number is better? See the issue? This post is to point out how 2,3,4 are the 3 lowest "streak" values you can decided on that match the definition and why you really need to avoid it from impacting your mentality.
Think about if we call 2 games a streak. Lets look at 3 matches. There are 8 possible combinations you can make from W or L. LLL, LLW, WLL, LWL, WLW, WWL, LWW, WWW. 2/8 are not a "streak" of 2. So 75% of them are streaks the other 25% are not. With complete RNG that's pretty dramatic Streak vs non streak results.
Lets look at them individual for tilt potential with the assumption that broken Win streaks and Loss streaks generate tilt. LLL Tilt. LLW Tilt. Wll Tilt 3/8th. 37.5% of your games will upset you and result in future performances becoming worse. This has impact on gameplay and ability to climb ladder if you make a simple assumption Tilt = Worse performance. Cuz that 50% odds expectation changes, your now MORE likely to see a loss streak if the odds shift to lower performance.
Then you play 1 more game? 2^4=16. I am going to Bold all the results that would induce "tilt"

10/16. 62.5% of all possible combinations if you let your mentality get impacted by loss streaks starting or win streaks ending. Not very good odds.

On 6 different occasions in a set of 50 There was a streak end or loss streak that coulda induced Tilt then negatively impacted each game afterwards.
I know it will seem pretty silly and kinda pointless for me to make this thread for a lot of you but take a moment and reflect. How many players do you see posting that are extremely pissed off and upset about a streak end or loss streak on the gameplay boards? Its a very frequent event. This is made to help posters like that understand the issues of a weak mentality made by bad Streak values.
