But where are talons sideboobs?
If only. I just have to pretend there are sideboobs with me when I play any champion that isn't Akali
Congratz! ^_^ Big Talon fan myself, I find him a ton of fun to play though I have trouble winning with him in ranked:/
Guess that means youre pretty..... B^/ TALON-TED
You Have Ranked Up To Master Assassin Take this outfit as a symbol of your milestone
But srsly, let's be real here. We should get a master assassin talon if we get lvl 5 with him.
Got about 100k mastery points on Talon over 3 accs, and tbh there are much more worthwhile mid laners than Talon, and even more worthwhile champions in other lanes. Poor guy lost half his identity when he lost his silence.
His identity? No. He's an assassin. He lost the silence because he was too overbearing against mages and most everyone when he could jump in, dump his entire kit without fear of retaliation because of the silence, and ult away before his target or anyone else could respond. If that's what you consider an identity, you should go home and rethink your life.
The purpose, the identity, of an assassin is high risk, high reward. The initial burst of damage at the start of the engage is their main source of damage. After that initial burst, they are extremely vulnerable due to having little to no durability of their own, and will in fact get clobbered by anyone who survives. Their main source of defense is not leaving their target alive to retaliate. The silence was removing that retaliation.
If, for example, Talon decides to tower dive Lux. With the silence, he could dump everything and be out of there before the turret could get two hits on him. It didn't matter if Lux lived or died. The silence prevented her from staging an effective counter. Without the silence, that turret, and the menace of Lux is much more dangerous to a Talon. She has a shield, a slow, a snare (which if timed properly she'll lock Talon under the turret AFTER he damaged her), her passive's damage boost on illuminated targets, and of course her ult. Her retaliation is much more dangerous now, and even without her dumping her entire load in return, Talon is forced to consider the threat and menace of his opponent and decide when is best to strike, not at his own leisure.
If you don't see menace in your opponent (basically, what can that champion do to you?) and instead a giant meatbag holding 300 gold, then the champion has failed to have an identity. Conversely, if your champion is so overbearing that they remove the menace of others and make a sizable amount of the roster look like meatbags holding 300 gold, then THAT champion has failed, and Talon has for a long time had that overbearing degree of menace.
I'm so excited for the rework though, while what you say is true, Talon is still super binary, and outside the strategic skill-ceiling that is admittedly somewhat high, he's not exactly difficult to play. Fingers crossed the Assassin Rework takes him into a different direction, I just hope he keeps his ult at least
Good job. Not quite there yet myself. He is underwhelming to play, and struggles in lane against good opponents, but I love him.
Talon is a cursed champion for me. No matter which team he is on i will lose. :(
