Can we have the bleed nerf to Darius reverted?

For those who don't know the nerf, it made the bleed damage go from .4 bonus AD to .3 bonus AD, effectively slightly nerfing his early game by minimal damage but making his late game suffer more.

For the math: Before if he had say 90 bonus AD his bleed would deal an extra 36 damage, in todays game with the nerf to making it .3, he would deal an extra 27 damage.

That doesn't seem like a big difference? That is per stack for the bonus damage he gets, multiply 36 by 5 and 27 by 5 and you get 180 and 135 bonus damage on a 5 stack target. That is huge late game, you need all the extra damage you can get as Darius, this was a big nerf to his late game, the numbers may not seem high in themselves but for the way Darius's bleed works, he needs the extra damage to wittle the enemy down before he dunks them. In total, he lost 50% bonus AD damage in his bleed late game.

Now lets look at the early game to show how this affects it, we will go with 20 bonus AD early game at levels 1, 3, and 5.

Level 1 (0.4 bonus AD) 12 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 1 he will deal an additional 8 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 100 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

Level 1 (0.3 bonus AD) 12 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 1 he will deal an additional 6 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 90 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

Level 3 (0.4 bonus AD) 15 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 3 he will deal an additional 8 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 115 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

Level 3 (0.3 bonus AD) 15 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 3 he will deal an additional 6 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 105 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

Level 5 (0.4 bonus AD) 18 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 5 he will deal an additional 8 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 130 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

Level 4 (0.3 bonus AD) 18 base damage over 5 seconds on his passive, with 20 bonus AD at level 5 he will deal an additional 6 damage over 5 seconds, he will deal 120 magic damage over 5 seconds with 5 stacks.

What does this prove? His early game will be buffed with this nerf revert but just by 10 damage if he has 20 bonus AD, if he has less than 20 bonus AD he will deal less than that. This nerf revert is geared towards his late game and I highly doubt this buff would make him unfair to play against, it will just give him more relevance in the late game.

This was a nerf strictly to his late game, as it's on Bonus AD.

You're not going to have 20 bonus AD at the start without Runes and starting Long Sword/Doran's Blade. That's a cheese setup done by Marksmen and occasionally Riven, not bruisers like Darius.

Two other details to note. First, Darius was designed with a strong early game that falls off late game, so the fact that he gets weaker in the late game is stating a fact of his normal design. Second, Riot's already planning his rework, because his current state is weak, but just buffing him to where he's viable will just make him oppressive.

How do you Riot is planning his rework? Is there any proof of this? And is their hope for a rework for my Shen? :'(

I don't track red posts or a whole lot of the news. I occasionally hear about things, and there have been several mentions of reworking Darius in the past. You'd do better by looking for someone who actually knows about these things.

they deprioritized it, we prob wont hear about it for another year again

It is a lower priority, yes. There are a lot of champions in need of reworks. I'm pretty sure Shaco and Poppy still take priority over most of them. Urgot's probably a high priority as well, but the guy doing his rework is also doing Shaco's rework; better to focus on one job at a time rather than try to do both at once.

being able to pentakill the enemy team with your ult while building tanky justifies a buff apparently

If your team gets the enemys low enough for you to kill them with your ult then I guess you should be able to?

Just because his ult resets and allows him to last hit champions easier doesn't mean he needs no buffs.

If you ask me I think it should be nerves again! People don't realize how OP Darius's passive is. Most situations where I would get out behind the turret alive. He passive alone would kill me when I have like +20% health remaining at low levels. That is insanely op tied with his % Armor pen and summoner 14.
