Yes because obviously a champion that requires you to have certain things in your kit or be totally screwed is well designed and deserves to be powerful

And this is coming from someone who would actually pick things that do well against Darius. Having counters is no excuse to being total bullshit against other champions

Same goes for Kalista. She's badly designed and everyone knows it

Out of curiosity, what are they? As far as I can tell, the only real way to win against him is to be tanky as hell, good at farming under turret, and then to hope for ganks to shut him down because he's such an incredible duelist early on.

A good Nasus not only can farm v Darius at a decent rate (maybe not 300 by 20 min, but likely at least 200), but will start killing him outright if he doesn't feed early.

There's a whole playstyle when it comes to laning against darius.

I mean, you could honestly beat him with any champion if you just know how to lane against him. It's just very hard if you're a pure melee to farm this lane.

A couple days ago I beat darius with Thresh . He was by no means bad and even got a couple kills on me. They weren't enough for him to get out of control, especially when I knew his kit and knew that once I was behind, I needed to play it safer.

He's extremely easy to gank and it's very easy freeze the lane on him.

Thresh + item 3153 + item 3068 + item 3143 Was all I needed to win 1v1's against him and also have much more utility for my team.

Since darius does physical and a fair bit of magical damage, HP is best when on the defensive since it also helps against his execute damage.

TLDR; You don't have to "win" this lane. Just don't lose horribly and stay relevant by roaming/keeping tabs on his location.

I was aware of that -- I've already been doing that. This thread implies that there is a counter to him, though. There isn't. The only "counter" to him is that he's worthless if he only gets 1 or 2 kills during laning phase. Dude's arguably just as toxic as Nasus.

Darius happens to be one of the easier matchups for me. They guy is the complete opposite of Nasus though..... You play passive against darius and it is to your advantage since he lacks the tools to be reliable in the lategame (The combo still hurts if you let it happen as a squishy target) much like pantheon.

Nasus? Bleh. In solo Q, all he wants to do is play with the minions for 40 minutes.

A counter doesn't mean an automatic win if you don't play the lane right.

Garen VS riven for example.... Easy as hell even against a good Riven. Her only hope should be getting fed for roaming... but if you're rushing item 3134 and maxing Q (Max E in this matchup btw) while she's going pure damage... What the "H" "E" double hockey sticks? If she's -good- she'll stomp you, roam and stomp another lane and then come back to stomp on you some more.

Kennen VS Darius is probably the most well known and practiced counter. Only hard part about this lane is balancing poke/waveclear in the early levels... which is hardly a tradeoff since you have escapes/ways to run him down after poking him low enough. You're also much more valuable in a teamfight.

This is the most popular misconception about Darius. Altough i get a kill in lane 95% of the time, when i don't it's not that big of a problem, i can still maintain a good farm, and buy an item like item 3800 or item 3074 so i'm not that useless in midgame teamfights. Then i can get one or two kills for sure, and the dunking can begin.

kayle? just ult anyone darius hits when they are low and you will do enough

kenned (poke poke poke and you just wait for him to grab you so you can stun him 5 times and run away laughing)

id also say lee sin and mundo since they can hurt him without realy fighting him

guys like renekton and nasus are skill matchups that can go either way... but those who i listed should have the upper hand by nature since they can abuse his lack of hard ranged engage

there can also be riven but again its a skill matchup besides that most guys should get their ass whopped and be kept down

The only champ i've ever lost to from these ones is Kayle and LeeSin .

And riven and nasus is not a skill matchup. Any Darius who's not an idiot can and should wreck them in lane.

I have gone up against jayce three times so far with Darius, won all three.

Same with kennen.

Against panth you just need to play defensively until level 6.

Against ryze, i don't really know, maybe i didn't play against ryze yet with darius.

Mega gnar is tricky, but you just pull mini gnar once and he's dead.

Sion is correct, but with the 5.8 nerfs, it might not be.

Other matchups i'd consider adding: Malphite, Cho'gath, Swain

More like everyone tries to get as bleeding close to him as possible at every point during the laning phase. He has no speed steroid guys, he's not that hard to outrun if you buy item 1001 early, then item 3047 / item 3020 ~~or even /~~ (because some can't comprehend the point).

That isn't even counting item 3144 / item 3113 .

You could also buy item 1031 / item 3191 / item 3082 / item 3024 for armor, but who buys defensively right?

Correction, every tick of his passive steals speed form you. He does have a speed steroid and people forget that and consequently get caught by him and can't run away.

No it doesn't steal speed?? Darius gains 5% movement speed per enemy champion affected by his bleed (and they don't lose any movement speed so it doesn't steal any movement speed) The only way Darius has to slow his target is with his W which slows between 20-40%
