What off-meta strats have you tried to deal with a legitimate meta pick?

I will start: synergy case: support when ult had an extra auto attack bug. counter case: support when had 54% win rate and 20%+ play rate ~~dis one's not too obvious but it's basically about forcing her to place traps in bush instead of my tower so that she couldnt actually bully in lane~~

I have a few old ones (I started playing right after Xin Zhao was released):

Magic Pen on Sivir back when her Q dealt Magic damage and Madred's Bloodrazor existed.

Old exhaust on prerework AD Sion and outdueling Yi and Tryn.

AD Malzahar (enough said hehehe).
