Today i reached summoner lvl 80....really bad odds?

50 capsules x 1-3 champions shards = 75 champion shards recieved (on average)

This is 50 capsules worth of champion shards with many of them unlocking 2-3 champions every time... This means i have opened around 75 champion shards since the lvl system.

I have yet to recieve a single shard that fits with the champs in my mastery Token collection (I have 10).

Does anyone know if this is intended to force players to upgrade champion mastery with BE?

Sure sounds like it. On par with the not so distant test of skin rerolls giving a 0 or near 0% chance on 1350 rp skins a few weeks ago. Which riot claimed was an accident.

My capsules have been really shit as well. I got just a solo illaio one earlier. I've been wanting to get a teemo one so badly.

ehhh not really. When I was leveling up past 30 I had Mastery 6 WW with 2 shards. Lvl 31 it gave me a ww skin shard. Have to remember there are like 139 champions in this game. with the pool there is now you have a 7% chance to get a champion shard for one of those 10 champions you needed it for.

It is totally random, I reached lvl 75 the other day, and here is a SS of the shards I have saved :)

Short answer: No. There's a whole lot of doesn't make sense here.

1 . Which are these champions? That's an important thing that was left out. The level capsules contain champion shards and they will equal an amount of BE value, there won't be "bad rolls", lower value champion shards will be included to bring capsules to a minimum amount. This is readily apparent functionality. This means it would be completely unsurprising that some shards are going to be over-represented from random chance for a player. It is no one's fault if someone exercises their choice and plays 6300 or 4800 champions and are then not getting consistently above average value drops for them for this purpose.

2 . If Riot really didn't want people to use those shards, they just wouldn't make the changes. You see how that doesn't make sense? If Riot wanted you to use BE instead of shards, why would they give you more? If they didn't want you to use them for upgrading mastery, wouldn't they just not let you in first place?

3 . People keeping seeming to have forgotten why Mastery 6 & 7 were made, what they are for. The reason they exist, the reason they are in the game at all, is because players wanted a Blue Essence dump. It is there to serve players who wanted that, an activity to grind for to gain a meaningless, cosmetic badge for players to use excess, unwanted Blue Essence on. And for players who aren't a part of that section like the badges anyway, they can use a matching shard to get a discount, shards that are now more readily available than ever before.
