NERF base dmg of Tanks.

Holy shit it feels bad to play as a melee carry toplaner, vs Ornn, Nautilus, Maokai , TahmKench or the likes. How is it fair they outtrade you through most of the game, while still building full defense. How is it fair they can litterally stand still and soak your damage from lvl 1.

For example, i (Camille) was against an Ornn last game. Trades went alright in the beginning, but then he built 3 health items straight from lane, while zoning me off dmg. Its part of his kit/identity i get it... so I try to stay calm, play passive and farm it out.

I backed 4 times, and he just sits in lane soaks all my dmg (literally stood still dancing while i damaged him) and builds more hp. As soon as he gets few lvls on his W, he starts outtrading me, even through my passive shield. Soon he sits at 60% hp and me at 20%. At lvl 10 he dives take 6-7 tower shots, pops stopwatch to remove aggro and kills me. I mean i couldnt even farm safely under tower with this guy. Same with the other tanks. Wtf is this bullshit that all their abilities are packed with cc, slows AND DAMAGE...

Mid game my jungler came to gank, but ornn simply killed us both since we were both AD and he had item 3075 + item 3068.

Somehow we managed to stall this shitfest and we actually went to lategame. and we all finished 6 items. I decide to go splitpush, but i am actaully still having trouble killing this guy and without building lifesteal im pretty sure he would have killed me with his 6 tank items vs my 6 bruiser items.

Am i just completely in the wrong?

  • Werent bruisers supposed to punish tanks early game, since tanks scale so much better into the lategame?
  • Werent tanks supposed to be starved off gold, hence why all their items are so goddamn cheap?
  • I thought it was supposed to feel like shit until you finnished a few tank items.
  • How does it fit in this model: (Burst --> DPS --> Tankiness --> Burst) that some tanks can deal insane ammounts of damage without even trying.

I will gladly admit i didnt play this perfectly, but neither did Ornn. He literally danced or stood still while i was hitting him. I have a fair bit of experience with Camille but i felt completely powerless the entire game.

Can we just nerf the base damage of these braindead meatshields so they actually require some skill to play? Why are their kits equipped with so much %hp damage while, the rest of us have to pay for it. Cant we just change tank damage to scaling with AP or AD, so if they want any significant damage they have to pay for it (in tankiness).

The best part is when I kill Maokai 5 times in a row as Renekton, he's literally 0-5, he then builds Sunfire cape and ninja tabis, I use my full combo E+ AA + W + AA +Q + AA , and then E to back away, and as I e to run, he hits me once proccing his passive and healing for the entire amount of damage I dealt him :)

Ya the tanks are way over-tuned. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't hit so damned hard while also being able to build full defense. The first 10 minutes of the game is pretty balanced, then people start building items and the balance gets completely destroyed. I seriously think the item system is archaic and needs to be removed entirely in favor of level based power. And the power gap needs to be small so players can use their skill to win the game instead of doing well early and then face-rolling because they have a huge power gap between them and the enemy.

Bramblevest is just a fucking mess. It forces Riot to make ADC items op as fuck because of it. Theres too much dmg in this game.

Again it depends on the type of tank. Vanguards like Ornn shouldn't be doing a lot of damage since they're initiators meant to chain cc, but the less mobile, relativity, Wardens like Kench, Poppy, and Shen have more power budget for updront stats.

The job of Warden tanks is to keep the opposing team at bay, and protect core team mates by preventing the enemy from getting in or punishing them heavily for doing so. For this reason, Wardens usually, and should, have a combination of offensive and defensive power similar to Juggernauts.

Poppy has one of the highest base ADs in the game even with a consistantly poor performance Shen has strong trading power compared to most of the Vanguards because his only CC is in the form of a taunt

I'll agree that a lot of the vanguards in the game, particularly Maokai, are obnoxious to face. This is coming from a tank player; their damage is often too high for the amount of time they can afford to spend in battle, especially when they aren't even meant to be the kind of tank that makes the opponent second guess their approach into a fight.
