New stat: Champion Weight

This is my idea for a new stat to help balance some of the mobility creep and give hypermobile champs a fair weakness compared to champions with 0 mobility.

The idea is based on real life: To be extremely mobile, one needs to be as light as possible.

This can be seen in martial arts, where lightweight fighters tend to be much faster than heavyweight fighters. Or in the animal kingdom where the cheetah is much lighter but twice as fast as the lion. Or even in Formula 1 where every single component of the car is designed to be as light as possible to maximize acceleration.

High weight = Low mobility Low weight = High mobility

Weight: Determines the airborne duration when knocked up or displaced.

This stat could be based on champion role and how much mobility/dashes the champ has built into their kit.

So for example:

  • AkaliTalonEkko KhazixEzrealFizz Yasuo Camille LeeSin would have low weight stats and thus stay airborne longer

  • While Darius DrMundo VolibearChogath, would have higher weight stats and knockups will only keep them airborne for a short duration.

ADC's and mages would weigh somewhere between assassins and tanks/juggernauts.

The stat would be independant from tenacity and completely predetermined for each champion based on their role and built in dashes. It could scale with levels so certain champions get harder to pin down as the game goes on (thinking Chogath). You would not be able to buy this stat from items or runes.

Concept: The more snap mobility (mostly dashes or blinks, as speed boosts are less annoying) a champion has, the less Weight it has.

Examples: Talon has a targeted dash on his Q and he can leap over walls = pretty low Weight Nasus has no mobility in his kit = high Weight Akali Sylas have tons of dashes = very low Weight Tryndamere has only one dash, but it's non-targeted and up pretty often = moderate Weight

obviously, there would be exceptions (mages/ADCs could have somewhat lower weight in general, and Yordles would have lower weight because they are smol)

Camille is like an 8 foot half metal abomination I'm pretty sure she's at least middle weight

How would this scale? Would it modify already existing airborne effects or would you just rework the airborne status?

I came into this thread expecting complaints about Knock ups, and I wasn't wrong to. Stop trying to make knock ups shorter when they're already shorter than most CC in the game. Their entire design is meant to be the true-damage of CC, where they're target agnostic and can be a set amount of utility that a champion can bring to the team even when set behind.

And can we also not make Mundo harder to kite? He really doesn't need the help being even more stat-checky. The people you want less effected by a knock up are the people who need to be CC'd most in the first place.
