NERF Katarina, She is way too easy to snowball

I got first blood vs Katarina as Cassiopeia and continued to poke her out of lane for the first 5 minutes. She comes back with only a Dorans shield and boots, (a total of 18 ap).

We get to lvl 4, and I continue to poke her down to 15% health and im around 95%. At this point i miss my W for the first time, and she uses this to close the gap and unleash her lvl 4 combo with ignite. This shit 95-0 me and i cant even retaliate, after that she proceed to roam and fuck all the other lanes and the game was over before it even started.

I get that she is an assassin and needs to snowball hard, but it feels really fucking bad when you are ahead and she proceed to stomp all over your team because of one mistake. I think her base dmg needs some nerf so a fed katarina can do the damage she has "earned", but should not otherwise be able to kill squishies without even buying items.

This became really bad after the new runes, when there are no real Magic Res runes, no nullifying orb against magic damage and she gets 8 free Magic penetration from sudden impact. There is a reason she is 55% winrate with 8,5% pickrate and getting banned so often. She is unfun to play against and it feels even more shitty to see her sacrifice absolutely no damage while going defense.

While Kat does need nerfs, the reason you give is bullshit. You messed up, she capitalized. It’s that simple. Why shouldn’t she punish you for messing up?

Yes i agree that i messed up, but she is way too easy to snowball on. It feels pretty unfair that she can come back to lane with only defensive items and wait out my cooldowns or for one mistake, and even if she has 15 % hp, she is able to delete me.

First blood = 400 g 10 cs lead = 150 g I went back and had my tear + dorans ring + pots, and she has dorans shield and boots.

You got a dorans ring and a tear these items arent really going to keep you alive and while yes the pots will help a bit dodging at least one dagger is all you had to have done to win that trade since she was just 15% hp and you had about 95% you couldve just stayed on top of the 1st dagger assuming she e+w to engage and then kill her while avoiding the q dagger damage. This was manly a positioning problem + you underestimating her damage output

The problem IS her damage output, why do you think i underestimated it? Its not fair nor fun that she is able to have enough damage to 95-0 an opponent without any real items only defense! She is an assassin, she is SUPPOSED to get damage items if she wants to do damage, her first kill is SUPPOSED to be difficult and If she gets it, it should naturally get easier as she snowballs and gets more damage. This champ shows no skill expression cause its so easyto get the first kill and then roam to fuck the other lanes.

I main the girl and yes shes broken right now but she used to be like how you thought she should be. Then Riot decided to rework her into this early game monster that falls off as the game goes on rather than her being bad early unless you manage to get fed once she hits lv6. People complained about her before and now the champ they believe she should be is what she was before people complained and got her reworked

Kat vs. Cass is highly Kat favoured since

  1. Cass can't buy boots and
  2. The compensation for that lack of boots is tied to a ground-targeted skill with a delay which Kat can and should easily dodge.

Maybe she does need nerfs, but Kat vs. Cass isn't a reason to do so :/

The fact is cassiopeia has the same health pool/mr as most other mages early, and katarina would have done the exact same thing on any other mage if their hard cc was on cd.

It has nothing to do with hard cc or not. It has to to with MS and positioning so that the champ can avoid dagger dmg when a Kat does edge-jumps.
