It took me one game and a Dyrus stream to realize how disgusting Jayce is.
His damage is absolutely absurd. His kit is horrendously overloaded. If you avoid his ranged form, you cannot avoid his melee form.

Yeah for most champs I usually roll my eyes when people cry OP but Jayce is broken AF right now. I'm not being biased either as I never have to lane against him, just seeing his damage in team fights and on streams makes me want to vomit.
He has an extremely overloaded kit and if you "flash the Q" that means nothing. His Q will be back up much sooner then your flash will be. He has a very safe laning phase and at the same time is also able to be extremely oppressive if people even try to get close to CS. His kit allows him a lot of utility which other champs normally suffer nerfs for because they have so much utility on hand which riot stated before numerous times was a trade off for dmg. Let alone giving him a change to how he builds do to the mana tweaks was unnecessary.
where were these complaints before worlds?
I have rank 6 with him. He is powerful, but I have to put my foot down by saying that he is only OP if you really know what you are doing. Otherwise he is just a good pick.
this is such a stupid point lol
you dont balance around shitters
The point was invalidating the amount of posts claiming Jayce to be a faceroll champion if played with any player.
who says hes easy?
maybe other shitters but thats it
hes not easy at all, but hes still disgustingly overpowered when played properly
Here we go again with the unranked smurf accounts calling other players shitter.
S3 and s4 d1
Gave up on ranked after end of s4
Nice try though
But you'd know that if you looked at my icon
I did the same man! The hell with rankeds :D s1: became 30 when season ended. s2: silver. s3:plat aaaand im done ^^
he's very easy imo, he has 1 skill shot, its fast, high range, AOE, his W does a fuck done and his autos extremely damaging, especially with the new mastery and when you use R. His melee for is entirely point and click and makes him have tankier base stats than most tanks. His base Hp scaling is extremely good, and pen is great on him so on top of your magic % damage building armor is even MORE useless against him.
Im a mastery 7 with Jayce with over 500k mastery points on him, only takes about 4 games with him to "know what you are doing with him". The only reason why people honestly have problems with him, is because they havent seen him in there games for years, but now since LCS decided to play him, theyre seeing him more and more in their games. Thus, they dont know how to counter him.
actually i have a problem with him because outside of a few match ups (cough cough
) he wins nearly every 1v1 in lane, his escape is really good so ganking him is hard, he scales very hard into the late game, has utility, and has high tanky base stats. so not that squishy, good laning phase, good late game, ranged, high damage, and utility..... sounds fair to me.
CC anally rapes jayce in team fights. If morg, elise, anyone lands a cc on him, hes dead.
thats literally every champions weakness, thats like saying "Viktor is extremely fair, if you bring his hp bar to 0 he dies." the thing about cc is, a lot of it is usually dodge able and has counter play. not only that but items like
exist to stop cc. EVEN THEN, he still has amazing siege, tanky stats so if you try to cc and focus him down it'll probably take you so long that the ADC will have killed one of you by now, and he doesn't have any counter play outside of just flat out countering his kit mechanically, which can't ALWAYS happen.
I admit, I play Jayce occasionally. From my experience the only way to stop a Jayce is to play a Mega Tank against him. Someone like Cho completely shuts him down. Don't feed him, and he won't be a problem.
Just don't feed! Its so simple! Quick! Spread the word!
Sustain tanks wreck Jayce because his poke is no longer effective and that is the whole reason laning with him is difficult in the first place.
for example.
You need to reach a certain point to outsustain his damage but he wont let you. You cant sustain if you cant even hit a minion.
will either sustain or go in and pummel him, he can't keep them off their cs because they have SUSTAIN in their kits. Jayce isn't ranged Darius, you can actually cs against him if you have sustain.
Yorick depends on getting melee range to heal with Q. Jayce wont let you do that. Cho'Gath can sustain easly with abilities
Good thing it isn't Jayce's choice whether Yorick hits Q or not. You're severely overestimating his capabilities in lane early game.
I play a lot of yorick and let me tell you this. The moment you come close he will jump on you and press E and go away. He will repeat this untill you are unable to go back. Yorick gets destroyed by champions who has a low cd aoe spell such as Jayce Q because it kills all your ghouls in one hit. Melee champions struggle against rangeds why are you even arguing about this. He can just auto attack harass you and you wont even hit your Q without sacrificing a good amount of hp. Yorick cant sustain without Spirit Visage and Sheen. You cant win against Jayce as Yorick...
If he repeats that he'll run out of mana, and the sustain you have early as Yorick is enough to deal with him, maybe you won't get kills, but you won't be dying so much. Sustain tanks are able to heal his poke, if he puts more mana into poking you he'll have either less cs or less time in lane, which eventually equals less cs.
And the reason I'm arguing is because I believe you are wrong. Cho'gath also beats Jayce because he can be tanky and become an even bigger threat to Jayce than Jayce is to him. Same thing with Yorick, which why he is good against Jayce.
Except he doesnt run out of mana the moment he gets Tear. And Tear is a 700 gold item.
And while he isn't building damage straight away you can cs enough to get some armor to make him hurt less. If he rushes damage then you still build armor because Jayce is an AD caster.
I don't imagine Yorick has much issue building Deadman's or Sunfire early.
you know jayce deals mixed damage right? His E hits you like a truck. He has ridicilously high base damage aswell. Yorick will get shut down by any aoe champion. Jayce wont let you farm. He will freeze the lane near his turret and render you useless.
by the way Yorick gets to his strongest point during mid game not early. He has mana issues early game.
Except tanks cant tank anything this season because everyone deals too much damage.
You can also be a good Riven. Oh wait: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTfDql1p8D8 (I will admit that the "easy" doublekill gave Dyrus the advantage he needed in the first game but still in the second one he just pressed a few point and clicks and got kill after killl.)
He's always had arguably the best laning phase in the game from what his kit is, but it wasn't unfair before the mana changes.
He's overtuned
Weren't the mana changes only for his E? Which scale with level? Which he maxes last?
There were mana reductions to both his hammer Q and E, with AD ratios increased.
I can see your point, I guess the Q buff was worse. It still means a stacking advantage for him of less mana + more damage per cast (then less casts overall needed because of the damage).
Before this the melee dive was more of an execution combo where you required a ranged Q+E either before or after to secure a kill, with hammer E being just a utility tool. Now you can almost beat other top laners just with melee form.
They simply need to nerf the damage from his poke. It's what Nid's spear used to be. This is why he single-handedly won so many games @ worlds.

Um yasuo is pretty balanced atm, thus the exactly 50.8% win rate he's enjoying. Also that isn't relevant lmao. Jayce is fluctuating between 53%-54% win rate right now with a 9% play rate. He got overbuffed when riot upped his damage when switching between ulti forms and his lower mana costs, plus all the utility and AS and AD steroids kitted with him, i don't want him gutted, just tweaked because he is a little insane right now.
Yasuo is far from being perfectly balanced infact the winrate you are quoting shows that he is vastly overpowered. Riot has stated it several times, those "complex or high skill champs" are fine when they hover around 47-49% winrate.
Yes the 1.8% more he has than ekko(other high skill cap champs) shows how "vastly overpowered" he is lol shaco is very difficult, yet he has a 52% win rate. He must be "vastly overpowered" alert the authorities also lee sin and fiddlesticks at 50% as well, oh shit, it's like half the game is broken oh no!!!!!! Really though, 47-50% win rate on high skill champs is normal, 51%-53% is strong, and above is op. That's a very common standard usually reflected by the intelligent folks here on the board. Now riot said 47-49%'s fine for high skill win-rates, yeah it's fine, as in they will not buff them. Not vise versa 50% is pretty damn normal, not nerfable, and you are literally arguing a percent xD learn to play around yasuo, it's not that hard, which is why he suffers far more in high elo with a 46% win rate in diamond, and a 48% win rate in plat. So no, he's balanced, but low elo players can't play against him. His win rate in bronze is even 53%, kinda shows a trend. Vastly overpowered is Vastly inaccurate, just saiyan. Look at jarvan 4 now, that's questionable with courage of the colossus. He sits at a 56% win rate in all ranked tiers currently daaamn son, now that some god tier stuff right there. Yasuo sitting at 50% with only high rates in bronze and silver and very shitty win rates in plat and above is exactly where he should be. I mean you're in diamond man, why would you still be complaining about friggin low elo champion yasuo? His win rate in your elo is 46%. Not to mention one of your mains, zed is holding a 52% in diamond, and a 47% in general. He's pretty good when mastered at a high level, mad respect btw, and he's much harder than yasuo, much harder. Yet there's no forseeable reason to nerf him, same with yasuo.
Downvoted for making good points
aww c'mon mate lmao, i need them upvotes. Thanks i guess though [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] i main wukong not yasuo if it helps, even though i don't get the hate
Upvoted for upvote farming
The not maining yasuo part always works
i think the issue is not yasuo's kit, but the items that work with yasuo
is fucking insane on him. 60% crit with a 12% damage reduction, a shit ton of AS, and movespeed that item is insane on him. Throw in
and
, you have a champion that is tanky while having 100% crit chance. He's supposed to be this high skill cap champion but with all the damage reduction and tank stats you can get on him, you can make a bunch of mistakes without exploding immediately. Thats the issue i have with him at least.
I dont think Zed is harder due to his safe laning phase and poke potential. They are about the same level in my opinion
Fair argument, i just feel like zed has to play the map more to win than yasuo does, yas requires patience, heavy cs'ing and mechanics, and zed requires heavy map play, objective management in other lanes, and mechanics. I find Yasuo somewhat easier because i'm much better at being patient and playing my lane than i am playing the whole map, just my opinion on that. However i find it more rewarding when you play the map accordingly with zed though, mm those pentakills by pure planning and awareness.
Yasuo is far from being perfectly balanced infact the winrate you are quoting shows that he is vastly overpowered. Riot has stated it several times, those "complex or high skill champs" are fine when they hover around 47-49% winrate.
Let me explain some fairly basic statistics to you.
Yasuo top's playerbase has an average of 115.33 games on him. So any given Yasuo player in platinum and up is likely to have over a hundred games on him.
Furthermore, nearly a fifth of all Yasuo top players have over 125 games on him.
Given these facts, why shouldn't Yasuo have a 50% win rate? No champion is so complex that after 125 games you can't at least break even with them, and Yasuo main win rates aren't that over the top. Just 54%, which is actually fairly low.
By contrast, Jayce players are the second least experienced top lane players in the game (only Kennen is played by less experienced with their champion players) at 21.87 games played on Jayce in average. Only 1.68% of Jayce's playerbase has over 125 games on him, with the largest demographic by far being those with 1-5 games on him.
As a Jayce main for 9 months now, and playing almost nothing but Jayce for all those 9 months, I can tell you, its not his fault.
The REAL problem is the items. Jayce can build whatever armor pen item he wants, and it will go good with his kit. His damage is big due to his Q+E mainly. His W is useless hammer mode besides getting mana, and his W on his Cannon does normal damage. But, when you have a Jayce able to build
, then his damage will be HUGE on squishies.
Another problem, is that its your fault. You dont take advantage of brush, you dont engage him when his mana is low, you chose a champ against him that he counters easily (Like
). When Jayce even has 40% of his mana, engage him. He will Q+E you, then E you away. His damage is shit until he gets armor penetration, but once he is out of mana, he cant do anything against you. He has NO sustain.
Fixing this problem = Learn Jayce yourself to know his counter playstyle. Jayce sucks against champs with lots of sustain, and tanky damage (like AP
). Another fix would be nerfing Lethality, doing that will make his damage normal instead of "absurd" to some of you. The last fix would be buffing
, back when Jayce players bought this first, he was considered the dumpster champ that nobody wants to play (which is why I mained him, I like infamous champs like
).
This is just my 2 cents, but with 9 months of experience with him and over 500k mastery points with Jayce, I think I know what his problem is.
