Can we talk about LeBlanc for a moment?

Well, of course she isn't that obnoxious anymore, now that her silence got removed some time ago, but that doesn't solve the underlying problem - her extreme saftey and damage despite almost taking no risk. The problem lies pretty much with the W. But simply removing it would pretty much beak the champ completly... But right now LeBlanc pretty much dictates the lane she's in, no matter the matchup. She can't be ganked, decides when to engage into a trade, pokes with extreme safety... all in all just frustrationg to play against.

I mean has Riot finally decided on her theme? If we go by lore she's supposed to be a "trickster/illusion mage", being all about "smoke and mirrors" and confusing the enemy. The passive is right now the only thing that SOMEHOW abides to that fantasy. And no, simply strapping a fancy smoke sfx to the mobility spell doesn't solve it either. Q and E are more like generic mage spells, although the E is a bit more usable than the generic mark-for-combo-skill.

It's not like her theme doesn't have any potential at all. She should be more about using that mirror-image-clone, maybe even having a skill to swap places with the clone without the enemy noticing. Another niche could be illusions in general. How about you create an image of your jungler rushing to your lane to scare your opponent off? Of course the illusion would deal no damage, but it should be enough to cause a lot of confusion - especially if suddenly the real jungler comes at the same time.

Or how about multiple clones? Oh, I'm in trouble? BÄM, NOW THERE'S TEN OF ME! Have luck killing the right one now... This would sound like some super mean ultimate move. Around the enemy several LeBlanc-Clones appear, all of them basic attacking and moving randomly. Just among them is the real one, slowly getting close for the deadly strike...

Vision denial might be a possibility too, depending on how it fits with the rest. My approach would be to make her still able to blow people up, but with less range and with less safety - and with tons of mind games involved. As LeBlanc I want my enemies to wonder: "Is that now the real one or just the clone?" ; "Is that really the enemy jungler or just some trick-image?" , "HA, NOW I GOT Y-" explosion of smoke, Muffled dying scream

I think you get what I'm getting at ^^

the problem with LB is her base damage, she excels in the early game, has a decent mid game, and a very poor late game 5v5 scenario. however since her early game is so fantastic shes a monster snowballer and can widely shut down many champions, duel early and just get ahead consistently. which is why its soooo important to just not die to her and let her push non stop, that way shes caped out, can only get so strong, and then you also get your farm, and you outscale her and outperform her late game.

the mistake people make is thinking they can stay in the middle of the lane and think she isn't going to try something. or get at least some harass off on you.

Ok, but the purpose of this thread is not to determine if she's op or not - after all I trust Riot's balance team enough by now (someone here remember release xin zhao? That's what happens with a BAD balance team...). I'm not really focused on balancing but on actual gameplay here. Right now she isn't LeBlanc, but "generic mage character number 846"... and I think this would be an awesome chance to actually make her an unique champ AND remove the frustrating parts of her kit.

In a lategame fight she still can blow up a squishy. Just because she doesn't murder an entire team anymore it doesn't mean she's suddenly bad in that scenario...

leblanc is fine.

SaltyToplaneGoat2 votes

Sigh, if you board guys could use your goddamn brain for once instead of blindly downvoting...

Ok, then explain me how exactly she is fine. How does she fulfil her theme right now? What makes her play pattern healthy? What does make her actually unique instead of some "generic mage character" as she appears now?

It's easy to say "it's fine". Better back that up son or don't post...

play galio into that matchup and you will win. play kassadin into that matchup and as long as you q when she jumps on you, you will win. Play a champion that can shove the lane faster than she can then you will win because leblanc cant last hit for shit under turret. Thats just how I deal with it since I didnt like playing against the champ. Also banshees is nice against her. Now instead of blindly begging for nerfs or change to champion that is fine why dont you find the counters to that champion instead of whining about it on the board.

Wow, this applies generally to every single AP champ... Also all you mentioned relies on the LB player being bad and falling for something totally obvious. If I play Galio she will roam and murder the side lanes. As Kassadin she doesn't even need to jump pre-six as her range pretty much lets her win pre-6, saving the dash for escaping ganks. Also pretty much every champ can lasthit under a turret... I don't know what league you playing right now, but above wood 4 this is a basic skill... apart form the fact that you make yourself wide open for ganks when you push.

If you had the remote capabilities to actually understand my post you would have realized that I'm NOT beggeing for nerfs, but fora slight rework to make her more health to the game - and maybe even BUFF her.

Also, I was not asking to "what can I do against her", but "what makes he runique? What is her theme? What makes her pattern healthy?"

Learn to read before dropping such verbal disappointment.

Oh and I ALMOST forgot... how can a champ that get's the third-most bans in all lol ranked be fine? I think that should be an indicator that something is DEFINETLY not fine here...

I have to admit that I am downright AMAZED by such verbal and argumentative competence.

Would you please eleaborate that, dear sliver 4 player who has only played six rankeds in the entire season? I'm BURNING to hear your COMPETENT OPINION here...

SaltyToplaneGoat1 votes

So... and can I now PLEASE get a serious reply here that actually deals with this thread's contents instead of just hating brainlessly? Thank you...

But we have Shaco for that.

SaltyToplaneGoat1 votes

Shaco is also outdated, but I agree that they share similiarities with their mindgames - something that hasn't to be a bad thing. After all we got tons of "hurr durr damage" mages and no one seems to complain... on the other hand we have a real lack of mindgames-champs...

But there is one key difference between Shaco and LB: Shaco is for murdering one person brutally after driving them insane, LeBlanc should be about bringing chaos and confusion into the enemy ranks (and maybe kill one who can't seem to handle it).

That does sound like an interesting rework of her abilities, but Crestknight has the right idea. She's not that hard to counter if you know how to do it properly.

SaltyToplaneGoat1 votes

Yes, it's not impossible, but frustrating to no end.

But I'm glad you like my ideas ^^ I think her theme has so much potential, yet she's reduced to something generic as this...
