If AP Assassins and Mages can have Mejai's, why can't AD Assassins and Markspeople have SOTO?

Sword of the Occult

Granted, the item is long gone, but Sword of the Occult was basically a Mejai's for ADs, although (for good reason) it gave quite a bit less AD than Mejai's gave to mages.

Why didn't Sword of the Occult get a pretty rework to go alongside Mejai's, while getting a nifty-little starting item to build out of that was basically an AD Dark Seal?

"If AP Assassins and Mages can have Mejai's, why can't AD Assassins and Markspeople have SOTO" well because of the sadlife in how some champions could stack them both and be completely ridiculously OP but even moreover the AD itemization is actually amazing and the ap itemization is lacking. Besides, do we really need zed to be building this item ? >w>

Because a lot of AD champions are built around snowballing anyways. SOTO could easily push them over the edge and into OP territory. Also AD and AP itemization isn't very similar.

id honestly love it for mejais to go too, i think mejais is more cancer. it gets built typically by safe people like lux or janna, or snowbally combo assassins who start with dark seal. I don't think the item really has any place in the game anymore.

I honestly do agree with this a bit; I've always been a 'both or none' type of person, and almost every champ with a fully stacked Mejai's feels completely oppressive to play against :S
