Quicksilver Sash and Dervish Blade

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like would be a decent item to re-add to the game, both to Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline. While neither nor appeared on both maps at once, I feel like it would be a good thing if they did, because they both give the active but with different options for final stats out of the build path. gave 50% attack speed and 10% CDR (an item I can see the likes of Aatrox or Kog'Maw loving), compared to 's 65 AD and 10% Life Steal (which champions such as Vayne or Lucian might prefer).

I'm not 100% sure personally, but I feel like having both and would be a decent way to allow people to change their builds based on different stats that they want at the time. What do you think?

Sometimes I build this on ap champs because I'm against skarner or malzahar. It would be cool if AP had an option. I've seen item 3139 on AP lulu in LCS lol

that being said dervish blade would be the better option for most ap champs

it would be better for killing structures and such or if feeling adventurous you can get it alongside nashors tooth

a lot of ap champions have naturally better synergy with dervish anyway, like lulu with pix or orianna with passive or lux with passive to name a few

I saw Jensen build Merc Scim on Ryze once last season. An ap QSS would be nice, but they already have item 3157

Zhonya's is the opposite of QSS. You can't use it while stunned, it's to protect from damage, not CC. Sash protects from CC, but does nothing for damage.

Zhonya's does not take the place of qss. What is a Zhonya's going to do for you when a Malz ults you? I'd say the same about WW but his ult isnt instant.

Im saying it as a defensive a defensive ap item. They most likely wouldnt give an ap qss when they already have item 3157 and item 3102

Im not trying to say that they are equal, which obviously is not the case.

they have said over and over that zhonyas is so good they don't want mages to be able to build QSS and zhonya's together. it'd be too good.

and i can't help, but agree.

being in stasis for 2.5 seconds is reaaaaally good. that's ages in a team fight. its the best anti-dive tool assuming you position well.

mages with QSS on top of that can just cleanse whatever cc you try to put on them when they come out of stasis.

the only weird way I could see them both being on an ap item is if they for some reason shared the same unique passive. meaning you could have both zhonyas and QSS, but if you used one you could not use the other until it came off cooldown. it doesn't make sense at all. but having both on an ap champ seems too much.

I would gladly give up zhonya's for a ap qss any day of the week. Most of the time i have would have issues that would need some form of help, a qss would be exponentially better in my opinion than zhonya's

Honestly I agree, given the item 3047 meta so it doesn't seem like anyone ever builds item 3111 anymore. Plus, item 3026 doesn't give both armor and MR anymore, so why not?

honestly i agree that there should be a second item that builds from quicksilver but i absolutely do not think it should be another item meant for ad auto attacking champs

Honestly I think Dervish would be the best fit for champions like Teemo, Kayle, Diana, Lulu, etc. who could make good use of the cleanse and attack speed of Dervish but not with the AD/Lifesteal from Mercurial.

while thats true i dont think it would be the healthiest or most fair option to have 2 branches of an important niche item both intended for the same general field of champions because it would still be denying it from virtually all of the same champions who couldnt get it before, i think it should be either an ap item or some form of tank item

What about a version that instead of AD, Life Steal, or Attack Speed, gave the CDR that Dervish Blade gives but also some HP or Armor? Granted, that would benefit every champion, but it would also be pretty great for tanks since they get defenses over damage.

Given how well BoRK transitioned from Treeline, your idea may work out. Though I'd make sure they're the same unique active, I don't want someone with 2 cleanses AND edge of night in the same build. You should be forced into one QSS item or the other since you get a powerful cleanse either path.

They did share the same unique active IIRC, but Dervish never got the 'Oh this doesn't remove Zed ult anymore' treatment so I think it would be better if that part of it was updated to match Mercurial.

Crazy idea - what if Zed's ult had counterplay other than buy an item to erase it? Insane I know! Though really it's weird item diversity on this front can't be changed a little since 1/130+ champs has this oddly specific ult.

Well it also removes suppressions like Malz R, WW R, Skarner R, and even at points removed things like Morde R. I still contend its weird to have an ultimate's power budget tied to an item, even moreso now that its incentivized to buy it if you're an AD champion.
