Whelp... Tracker's Knife and Skirmisher's Sabre are gone on the PBE.

item 3706, item 3711, and item 3715 are all gone on the PBE right now, and have been replaced by a new item, called 'Pathfinder's Knife' that gives you the updated smite of item 3706, as well as a placeable control ward that refills when you return to base or steal an enemy jungle camp.

I get item 3715 dominates solo queue and item 3711 dominates pro play, but is the solution really just 'remove all choices that the smite upgrades were introduced to the game to give in the first place? (RIP Poacher's Knife and Ranger's Trailblazer btw.) I'm not sure if 'Force everyone into a Stalker's Blade with a Control Ward' is a good idea at all, so this change worries me more than anything.

I honestly wish the jungle items weren't forced upon junglers. You want to clear and level up quickly? Well fuck you better finish that jungle item boy

I've said it before. Riot is trying to phase out choices. This is just another step. They don't want you to have choice. They want to control what you do. The more control the better.

And now junglers have even more power, stalker + tracker. Now you can camp a lane with true damage smite and free wards to check for counter gank/enemy laner position.

Might just call it the top-lane support as well.

Just another change to homogenize a class and remove player choice. Just like they did with the support items.

I really hate how they do this shit. They take away any options, there’s no need for strategy if you only have one choice, amirite? I was a jg main before they took away the smite buffs, it just lost alll fun for me when there wasn’t any need for strategic decisions with your smite and instead just “oh I needs health better smite” like they brought some strategy back with the plants, but then go and counter it with this. Plus, there are gonna be at least 2 junglers that are gonna fall off the face of the planet when this hits, lee is gonna be damn near useless and Jax is gonna suffer pretty badly too. Bad enough they took jg from me, but then they removed the options from support literally right after they said they wanted to make the role more fun. I MISS SIGHTSTONE DAMMIT. At least they’re going to bring back the actives of the items they took (tho tbh what was the point of taking them then??) but they really need to quit trying to fix shit that isn’t broken. Especially when their answer to actually legitimately bullshit stuff is a .25 second “nerf”.

I can't imagine this is permanent, it seems odd to just remove all of choices. It's probably just in PBE to see how it works, if that makes it to live id be amazed.
