Remember when Riot said that they would be giving Rengar a lower CD on his ult?

And in turn for this, they took away fury generation during stealth, damage on Q, attack speed on Q and let his enemies know that the hunter was coming

And then a patch later, they nerfed his CD on ult so that its 150 at rank 1. Thats 2 and a half minutes where rengar can't really gank anyone. Originally, it was 140/105/70. Then Riot reworked Rengar and took away a ton of stuff so that he could have a lower ult CD. Then they raised it to where it currently sits. AT 150!!!! Higher than it was pre-rework.

WTF Riot

you clearly didnt see how strong and annoying he became his ult would basically give him a free kill on any squishy

I really don't see how this would happen at any decent elo

you would have to be really pushed in the lane on an immobile champ for this to happen, since his ult will tell you when he's near. In mid lane, if the opponent is paying attention, they just go back to tower, its right there. In bot lane, you can coordinate with your support to keep him from killing you.

His burst pattern got reduced, his ult CD was increased and he was given nothing to compensate for this. I mean, pre rework, you could bola them and always land the root, but now since its a skill shot, they can just dodge/flash it.

They made his bola range longer and making it a skill shot can allow you to do things your old one cant (shooting in fog of war) they made his passive stacks permanent they gave empowered q gave 10% more dmg for a period of time afterwords they made his w better for tanking by giving flat armor/magic resist for each champ hit which would allow him to have potentially 100 if hit all of them and they gave more utility to his ult no offence in any way because i enjoy this discussion but it feels like you did not even read the rework because pre rework rengar was a one trick pony who really felt useless at times and after the rework they made him what he really should be a hunter looking for trophy stacks

I wasn't aware that LCS and OGN constituted an indecent elo. I'll be sure to tell all the pro players that they were making a mistake when they made post-rework Rengar a top-tier jungle pick in competitive play (top 3 most played junglers for over 4 months).

They gave Rengar a lot in the rework. It wasn't just nerfs mate.

Riot screwed up his rework. This is to say that basically, the parts of his kit that where binary and snowbally are still there, and his same problems are still not fixed. They only made it so that when he falls behind he is TOTALLY useless instead of only mostly useless (before, he could Q towers and the AS from non empowered Qs let him split push marginally).

Im so bad yuck1 votes

Reng main here.

The main reason why his ult CD is so high is so that he can keep his high burst and sustained damage without having to blow it. Think about it for a second. Back when it was nerfed, jungle clears were so easy that Rengar could safely level 3 gank/invade and 100-0 you in a matter of 2 seconds. Obviously this is not the case now, but Chilling Smite is allowing Rengar to gank without 5 ferocity even - and keep in mind you can't buff a champion that already can be topping the charts if he's not an ADC.

What else. There's something different about his leap coding this patch, because before I'd always land a bola mid-flight and now it's more of a hit or miss. Maybe they are testing the waters, but if I were you, I wouldn't expect a Rengar buff anytime soon.

ALSO:

they took away fury generation during stealth, damage on Q, attack speed on Q and let his enemies know that the hunter was coming

And they added ferocity generation post-stealth with a movespeed buff, which is so much better for all Rengar playstyles, including assassin, ferocity Q damage is lower BUT regular Q is higher than pre-rework and a ton of attack speed that you couldn't neccesarily utilize before was changed to %AD bonus, increasing his burst even more.

you could bola them and always land the root, but now since its a skill shot, they can just dodge/flash it.

In most cases, pre-rework, if you had to cast empowered E on a target it pretty much meant you'd never get to them in melee anyways. And a skillshot E allows you to generate ferocity at range if being harassed in-lane/escape more reliably by slowing pursuers from far away or without having vision of them. Not to mention being able to check bushes...
