Assassins currently make up roughly 70% of mid picks. AP itemization rework was a complete failure.

The remaining 30% is primarily Lux, Ahri, and Vladimir. Vladimir is a strong pick against assassins, Ahri is arguably an assassin (and also good at escaping an all in), and Lux is likely picked by auto-filled mids, because it's a safe choice.

Even my normal queues with primary role set to mid are almost always instant, making it clear that nobody wants to play mid in it's current state.

Please go back to the drawing board and actually fix this clusterfuck.

But for real I love playing morde into assassins at my elo idiots just dive on him (Talon/Zed) and just expect to get free kills when in reality I just play safe till level 3 and laugh when they dive on me throw W on a minion hit em with E and all the Q procs get the W heal and constant shield and ignite them. The only champions I can even play mid anymore are Mordekaiser, Zyra, Morgana and Brand since they all abuse the Liandry's/Rylai's combo. hell my build on morde is item 3151 item 3020 item 3116 item 3135 item 3165 item 3089 for everyone else I listed it's item 3285 it just seems unless you have a bullshit mechanic likes morde's early heal&shield or Morgana/Zyra/Brand stun (although brand is a little feast or famine with landing his) you really just cant perform well mid at all.
