Why does brand's W cost less mana than E early game?

W can be used to poke from distance, while E actually requires brand walk up to a counter-playable distance. If brand's early game W mana cost got increased and E early game mana cost got decreased, brand support wouldn't be as oppressive as right now to play against in lane. It's definitely fine to have a window of powerspike like having an ult that works very well against 2 opponents, but it should also come with weaker pre-6 laning.

Because then Brand mid could just spam E on you whenever you're in range and harass melee champs to oblivion (like annie with her Q).

W is a delayed aoe so it has more counterplay

Brand Support is so frustrating to play against. Buys Frostfang to "Support", then goes AP. Ends up being a bigger threat to our team than his Mid who is farmed and has more items/levels.

We're talking about a champion designed for aoe nukes, Of course he will do better in a lane against a lane of 2 people and you can't really change that unless you literally destroy his base damage.

because if it didnt supports would take e early and spam it without being able to miss???

Brand w only deals 5 more damage at level one than his e and can be missed.

lower the mana cost on this and you will hate brand support even more.

Not even close to being meta, finds a way to be bitched about constantly on this board. Shows the quality of the boards player base really.

You answered your own question.

His W costs less because it's his only safe and reliable way to both poke and farm. If his E is overcosted then that's a problem with his E- his W doesn't enter into the equation.

Or just reduce his base damage and increase his AP scaling to compensate. Reduce his passive's % HP damage and add a AP scaling to it.
