Ranked has provided nothing but stress and anger with the fact that everyones toxic, the game is frustrating and I have to babysit my teammates. And Normals isn't better as most games are either stomp or get stomped. I can no longer play my favorite champion, Gnar, because the game is pretty much play the meta or lose and Riot is sitting here making new skins while their game goes downhill. I have spent so much time and money thinking I would get higher up the rankings by following the lie that nobody has infuence on your ranked games besides you, which is a damn lie because it took me two thousand games to climb bronze and only now do I realize it's not worth it. Until Riot fixes this crappy meta and realizes 80% of the community being gold and under is a problem this game wont get better. I'm not going to attempt to climb to gold babysitting these kids who give up once they see the mid lane ahri give first blood.

News flash: Riot will always continue to make new skins, regardless of the state of the game.

You wouldn't expect the IT guys to just stop maintaining the servers because balance got messed up, why would you expect the art guys to abandon their work because balance got messed up?

My point is the art department of league is more consistent than the balance part of league. I find that sad because gameplay should be top priority and should be taken seriously but it seems the art department, presumably the worst Imo does more than they do which is saddening.

Compare Forsaken Olaf to Forsaken Jayce, or Battlecast Xerath to the rest of the line. They're doing a massive update to Yordle splash arts because they were inconsistent on the number of fingers a Yordle had.

The Art team is typically fire and forget, not changing much after a skin releases. Do you really want the balance team to act the same way?

I have yet to see a patch without balance changes. To say that gameplay is ignored is laughable. You could say it's miss guided or makes bad decisions, but that's a very different story from it not being a top priority.

There are about 135 Champions, each with base stats, 4 abilities and a passive. Add to that the 237 items with their combination of stats and passives, Tower stats, Dragon Stats, Baron stats, plant effects, and it's amazing the game ever resembles a balanced state.

I don't envy the Balance Team. They've got an impossible task assigned to them, balancing the game while keeping it from getting stale.

It's not a meta problem.
This is not something you can fix.

There are people, be it mechanical skill or game knowledge, who cannot get better. No amount of practice tool or replay or coaching or otherwise will make them better. This is N O T a problem any meta or balance change will fix or solve. Period. "Yeah well it's just this time!" NO. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM SINCE SEASON ONE.

"GIVING UP" IS NOT SOMETHING UNIQUE TO SEASON 7 DESPITE HOW YOU MAY FEEL. I have had people who want to surrender at twenty since season 1. I have seen situations where people would completely give up a winnable game because they didn't feel like playing it out. This. Is. not. NEW. This is not because of the meta, this is not because of balance, this is a thing that occurs in the damn game and there is nothing we can do to fix it barring removing the surrender feature.

PS: "Solo carrying" was only a thing if you were truly good and even then it's been minimized past Season 3. "Solo carrying" works both ways, after all. (That 17/1 Jax wasn't on your team all the time, bro).

If most of the community can't climb the lower levels than the lower levels are too hard to climb. It's simply game making ideas that lower levels are easier and higher levels are harder but in League of Legends it's easier to maintain a consistant climbing rating at platinum and up than it is to keep a consistant rating at silver. I'm not saying it's broken (It really does seem like it though) but if a ranked system holds 80% of its players, might i add a 27 million people play this game and most of them are lower level that's a huge issue that has been going on for awhile now.

The upper levels are the upper levels for a reason. I'm not sure why you make it sound like bronze players should be in plat+. I've boosted in the past, before rito caught and banned me. It used to take me about 5 days to get an account from bronze to gold. Bc I was substantially above that level. I have a guy on my friends list who got 2 of his accounts from silver to master in about a month each playing nothing but bard. Because he is a great player. Let's not pretend like climbing is impossible. There is a lot of truth to "I have to play the meta", but that doesn't take place until higher elos.

If a Silver 2 player has MMR that is of Gold 5 and he wins games, he should be a gold 5 player. If a gold 5 player has silver 2 MMR he is not a gold 5 player. It creates a cycle of randomness where people from (Random division) 5 are the equivalent to (Random division) 3. There is no defined rating. If I see a silver 5 in my eyes he's just as good as a silver 3 but just got unlucky.

Yeah silver 5s and silvers 3s are just as good.

Actually silver is probably the only elo which has a huge variety of skill level (possible gold/low play players that don't play a lot as well as bronze players that just spammed games).

HOWEVER, 80% of the community will ALWAYS be gold and below. THATS HOW THE ELO SYSTEM WORKS. If everyone starts at silver 3, and 1 win = 1 loss, then the average elo WILL be around silver 3.

Compare silver players from now vs silver players in season 3. Silver players now are much better (because of how much information is out), but so are gold/plat players relatively, so once again they're silver.

Understand this though: stop listening to boards. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW META. You think the silver top laner/JG/team is gonna punish you for playing GNAR??? Who is actually pretty good rn? No. You will climb just as well with gnar as you could with "meta" champions.

You just need to focus on your own play and if you end the game with the mentality "omg my bot lane went 0-10 fk my life" then ya it'll be frustrating, but if you think "I played well mechanically and but didn't make x rotation, and just the ACT of playing has made me improve", then you will climb AND have fun.

The game is shit right now.

My understanding is that this is caused because of the market demand from China. Riot balances the game in a way which the largest market, china, is demanding. It's not what the other regions seem to want, but because of how they tend to play the game, often in internet caffees which charge you by the hour, they want faster matches to get more games in.

The current state of the game is really boring imo, and a lot of other people feel similarly. You can make the argument for why the game has become the beast it has, however most every argument could've been appropriately addressed by riot. Instead they chose to keep pushing in the same direction...

It's a classic Ship of Theseus situation.

How much does the boat have to change before it's not longer the same boat? And at what point do you stop approving of this changing boat?

The only problem I have with League is just that it feels they can never quite figure out how to balance the game somewhat decently. It always feels like there's some major issue brought on by some kind of change made to the game and it goes in a cycle over and over. I'm so tired of the only good AD carry options being the ones with useful cc and utility and the rest are not worth the effort because games are decided so quickly that they don't get to scale. I'm tired of every champ hitting like they are attacking you with a nuclear weapon. I mean damage is just absurd at this point. Hecarim can just dive me under turret for 1200 dmg at level 8 get the kill in the blink of an eye and stroll out like it's not big deal. I feel like itemization is just outta control in this game and it shows no sign of slowing down and it's usually melee champs that abuse it the most although the ranged champs have issues occasionally as well. It'd be nice if champs needed more than 2-3 skills to burst you down in a second when you are squishy meanwhile I have to afk auto the nautilus tank for 20 seconds to take him out because I got a little behind early on.

Honestly have been saying this myself for all to long and now that I'm in high plat. I really see no reason to play I have achieved my ranked goal for the season however I really don't feel like pulling my hair out with this game anymore. For the time being I'm going to chill and play halo wars 2 till lethality and damage creep as a whole is dealt with finally, from what I've played of halo wars 2 I can feel that same rewarding gameplay I got from lol a few years back when I dare say it was at its peak. It's a shame too cause I finally managed to have a hour long game last week and that was the most fun me and my friends have had with this game in a long time but the chances of matches being that even are 1 in million..... I really wish riot would stop this mess this game use to be one of my favorites. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I agree; this game doesn't feel very fun for me right now, I find myself wanting to play other games, just not play League. I've been playing this game for a long time and while I can't say this has been the most crap this game has felt, it certainly feels like the crappiest its felt in a long time. I feel I can't play my main champions like Singed, Garen, Mundo (he still feels fine but only because he's a fucking hyper tank), Cho'Gath, Trundle, or even the new Yorick.

I just plug away ARAMs. Ranked is not worth the headache, as I just have other things I'd rather do with my time. ARAMs at least give everyone a few excuses, and that's always been enough to avoid 80% of the toxic shit-stream that is Ranked.

The thing that's scaring me about Riot is how little they seem to be trying; they're just sort of waltzing down the primrose path without any real inkling of the direction their meta is taking. It's promoting some very curious gameplay patterns because it seems like they're trying to shorten matches with raw damage as a means.

Even with lethality there are ways to carry and win the games, take a look to my profile if you dont trust me, I OTP Nami and i win most of the games, yeah its frustrating to see everyone with lethality.

If you think its frustrating see your teammates flame mute all at the start and focus on yourself and improve, maybe you can push your lane and make a counter gank bot with the TP, or maybe you can roam with your jungler into their jungle and kill their jungler.

Bronze and silver is trash but you can still carry if you are good enough.

Gnar is more of a mid gamer than late gamer. Although he is too team reliant and that sucks since team mates have to know how he works and be willing to co-operate.
