most people that say Yasuo mains are toxic

Mannny··57 votes·3,632 views

Are usually the same people that are toxic towards the Yasuo mains. In the past 10 games, about 4 I had played with or against a Yasuo. None of them were toxic, none of them fed, and they were just normal human beings. This stereotype of "omg yasuo mains are evil and toxic and feeders xd" pisses me off because it simply isn't true. Whenever my friend plays Yasuo, he always gets treated like garbage by our teammates, and only when he proves himself that he is good do our teammates apologize and say "wow ur not what I expected you to be.". Please don't go into your games thinking every Yasuo is out to feed, be open minded and realize they are people just like you. That's all I wanted to say.

It's exactly this mentality that causes problem. If this was just memes, it would be fine, but this isn't. This is a serious discussion.

But no, really, tired of seeing a new Yasuo thread every 10 minutes.

It's because he's banned in draft 24/7, I guess some people are trying to plea their case that they aren't toxic mains before the great perma ban when it rolls out elsewhere.

Made a detailed post about this last night that broadly covered champions and roles in general. Took it down because I am tired of the people who specifically target and ridicule every post I make. But I am glad somebody else said the same thing.

Everyone have different experiences. I for 1 mostly meet with the toxic kind of Yasuo players. 9/10 Yasuo I meet are either ultra feeders 0 9 0 or Verbally abusing the jungler or rest of the team. (sometimes both)

For me when I see a Yasuo top(ally side) i automatically assume he is going to feed hard and flame everyone else for it. When I see him on the enemy side he is either ultra fed and harassing us trough chat. If I'm against him on mid usually beat him hard and he still gets back into the game from only 2 items. (that is simply an annoying factor)

There are times every once in 3 months I meet a Yasuo that is so good that he solo carries the game. (but lets be honest he is the exception of the exceptions the rest were annoying)

1 thing is true though Yasuo is fun to play. Only the kids who started to "main" him and thinks they are good getting kills with an unfun/unfair champion are the true target of Yasuo hate. (they think its their achievement getting fed, in reality Yasuo is just overloaded champion)

Cool champions which have bs damage are toxic magnets: Darius Annie Fizz Draven LeeSin MasterYi Quinn Yasuo Zed Vayne Renekton Riven Leblanc Ekko Fiora Quinn might be an exception but some detestable human beings bring her to top against melee champions.

HudnofskiBleh1 votes

Who feels cool playing Yi? I've honestly never understood that.

OP Garen Support1 votes

I like Yi's design and his personality. (not his abilities)He is a toxic magnet because even people who are bad at this game can have success with him since he is very basic.

FTFY Man, I remember a year or two ago when I started this game and people would say to beginners "just pick master yi he works almost anywhere" haha, haha... ha.. no. Master yi's basic mechanics are easy but his positioning, waiting for the enemy to blow bigger cooldowns before going in and using his q correctly to gapclose at the correct times and dodge cc abilities simultaneously, is on the difficult side unless you play a lot of yi or are somewhat experienced.

Level 7 bird watcher here. Quinn top lane is a lot of fun. I am not sorry.

If and when Riot increases Quinn's auto range to something decent, I will consider going to bot lane with her.

Cryo001 votes

I hate Yi more than Yasuo because he can the do same thing that Yasuo can with significantly less skill.

Oh wait ? you played 4 games with yasuos that haven't fed? well then, that must represent all yasuos equally. No, just no. Stereotypes while not true, exist for a reason.

Theres a difference between a champion main and a fotm players most people picks fotm like twitch in my games and straight up feed because they have a poor build or dont know the strength weaknesses and power spikes of a champion and what to do in certain matchups. I have no problem with a person playing yasuo on my team or the enemy team what I do have is a problem is a person who bans out their teamates plays a fotm champion and has no clue what to do with them. Yasuo Zed Riven Vayne LeeSin are examples of high skill floor and high skill cap but a person who doesnt ever get the chance to play said champions wont ever be able to get better on their champs.

Catastrophic4 votes

Stereotypes are not based on my opinion. They are based on public opinion. And that's why I haven't talked about my experience with yasuos. So stop trying to straw man my argument for your benefit.

Luminier4 votes

What I said was just as valid as what you said. Not all Yasuos are feeders and not every feeding Yasuo represents the champion base as a whole.

Also public opinion doesn't really matter when it's been proven that this anti-Yasuo circlejerk is the bandwagon effect, anyways.

Also, your straw man claim might hold some merit if I wasn't just being blatantly facetious, but alrighty then.

Salson4 votes

It not that Yasuo mains are toxic, it's that toxic people generally play 1v1 champs who aren't team reliant. There were toxic Riven and Yi mains for ages. So they naturally add Yasuo to their champ pool.

It's like Islam and terrorism. Not all terrorists are muslim, but there are aspects of terrorism that work "well" with radical version of Islam.

Shahamut4 votes

Lol. I'm not even able to consider myself a main. If I play Yasuo, and do well, I will still get flamed, by the enemy team.

SloaneWolf4 votes

I recently played Riven in ARAM and when I killed an enemy they typed in all chat "Hey, kid, when are you gonna get an adult champ to play?" I told them this is ARAM I didn't chose Riven and I don't even play her....They responded with "but you own her." WTF!?!?!?! I own most champs in the game...even Rammus--and I fking hate playing Rammus.

Fancyanceypants1 votes

It's funny 'cause she's also in the free rotation this week, so you didn't even have to own her.

TheFlameofOath4 votes

Yasou's caption is perfect, 'The Unforgiven'. To be honest, Yasou is fine but should not be played in ranked unless you are proficient with him (very hard to play). Most players complain because they don't understand how hard it is to play Yasou until they try it for themselves.

rtbf2216514124 votes

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy too. If I go into a game and say "typical draven" and provoke a draven player; why are they all the sudden less likely to be toxic when you already assume they are toxic? Why provoke a toxic person? Isn't that pure stupidity? What do you gain? Do you really expect even a non-toxic person to not react?

you might be right but as the old saying goes "one bad apple spoils the bunch"

well, there are signs for such things and stereotypes typically serve as either a warning or classification for common occurrences. Take for example an ethnic group covered in tattoos that make a lot of noise in large groups

although this is a broad classification, if you were to come across such people, would you not be wary?

Volphi1 votes

[deleted]

3TWarrior1 votes

it is entirely relevant. Stereotypes affect everyone by general ease of classification. Potential threat is one of the brain's highest priorities due to evolution, so, yes, it is relevant.

Stereotypes are also how we identify groups, such as the police, sports teams, nationality, ethnicity, religion and just about everything in life.

Yasuo are potential threats, so regardless of experience, until the minority becomes the majority for opinion in all individuals, the players will still judge by stereotypes and then when the inverse is true, the inverse will become the stereotype

please define how you categorize any subjective thing if every aspect of definition is what is an acceptable standard by a group of people?

by appeal to nature:

In some philosophical frameworks where natural and good are clearly defined in a specific context, the appeal to nature might be valid and cogent.

for instance, if an officer strays from uniform standards, will they not be punished? Say for instance wearing a red uniform with a white sash that says "Police." Who would take that seriously if it is not their local standard?

until the established standard of champions and players is put to rest, stereotypes will continue to exist and be a bias for human behavior.

If you wish to define fact from fiction, a Poll could be used, but unless every player of the game is polled and answers, the data will boil down to the two extremes of feedback: satisfied and unsatisfied.

I will create a poll for such data collection.

So far, your presented counter-arguments are very loosely appealed in an attempt to undermine my confidence, which falls under the very argument you presented: appeal to emotion

My issue with the meme that Yasuo mains are toxic is that being toxic requires someone to actually talk to their team. Yasuo players in my experience are far less likely than other champ players to communicate in any capacity whatsoever for better and worse.

I'd be salty and toxic if my main got banned 80% of the time too.

i've been in too many games whereby the yasuo is 0/5 after 10 minutes to be persuaded otherwise anymore.

Mannny1 votes

You simply choose to focus on the bad ones, and ignore the good ones. I am sure you had many games where a Yasuo has carried you or has done well, but you focus more on the bad rather than the good.

S0LST0RMER1 votes

i was like you once, i used to believe that people were indiscriminately against yasuo players, i didnt used to mind a yasuo on my team, but these last 2 seasons the number of terrible yasuo players just incredibly out way the number of good ones, i had one yasuo a few weeks ago who was god like, but other than that they all go 0/5 after 10 minutes, its worse when they go top lane. this is something that i have only just started to notice, but there is a pattern, firstly, they are super aggro, e , e , e. so they end up pushing the lane, therefore they get ganked, whenever i see a yasuo die, the wave is always hella pushed. whats even worse is that 3 deaths later they are still going super aggro. Even Dopa/Apdo said this, yasuo is op, but the fact that he is op is his biggest weakness, they think he in invincible and will try and force plays where you arent supposed to, therefore he has a high chance of mis-positioning, and throwing, and that is exactly what i see in my games, they just go ham 100% of the time, they dont know his limits, they think because he is so strong they can do anything, and thats the reason why he always ends up feeding.

Mannny1 votes

For one, the last Yasuo in your game went 8/4. Second off, If every Yasuo was inherently bad and super aggro like you say, his winrate would fluctuate from very low to very high due to the random chance of the Yasuo players getting fed and feeding. This is not the case, over the seasons Yasuo has kept a decent winrate, only spiking when a new item was changed to fit him, or when he fit the meta. Statistically, he seems to be just like any other normal champion.

S0LST0RMER1 votes

lol you forgot the other yasuo's on my history who went 0/5, why didnt u mention them?

Mannny1 votes

Because you seem to be focused on only the bad ones when there are clear good ones in your games. You just have a predisposition to look at the ones that feed.

S0LST0RMER2 votes

you have to think of why i have a bias against yasuo players, i didnt just wake up and magically started hating yasuo players.

this was my last game kek. why am i always focused on the bad ones? i wonder why

Mannny1 votes

Since you are still on this dead topic this will be my last say on the matter and I will leave it be. Again Yasuo and his stats pose no issue and clearly there are no issues in his design that differentiate him from other champions. I am sure you had many Yasuo players that did good (Because I did check your OP.GG many times over) but if you are going to keep telling me they are mostly bad I won't try to sway your opinion.

S0LST0RMER1 votes

they are mostly bad
