Why won't people finish games?

Like seriously, WHY is there a need to attack the tanky Fiora as an ADC while you're right beside a Nexus with two auto attacks away when you're full health? Why when someone is spam pinging it do you decide to do the exact opposite knowing you could end the game right then and there? Why do you back off when you've killed 3/5 of the enemy team and all 5 of your team are up and in their nexus? I really wanna know this, because it's beginning to become a common thing and it's really disheartening to spend what should almost an hour on games that should have lasted 30 minutes and then LOSING it when there was a clear advantage at that 30 minute mark that then spiraled downhill.

I won't claim to always do the smartest things, but I always try to at least finish the game when there's a clear chance to win because I know how things spiral out of control when you don't.

Because people want kills.

That really it. They rather try to kill them to get a bigger KDA then actually finishing the game.

I could understand that, if it was a game that was clearly won with minions covering their nexus and them in the base cowering, but when you purposefully don't end a game that could flip on a dime it's different.
