Is there a way to reduce GP's reliance on RNG?

With the recent trinity force change, a standard GP build ends up with 40% crit chance. Stacking up any more crit chance than that requires wasting a lot of gold (either in attack speed, a stat he doesn't really like, or by stacking IE/ERs).

A lot of GP's power budget is built into his Parrley/barrel crits. The difference between critting or not on a single barrel can easily be the difference between winning or losing a team fight.

There's obviously an element of randomness built into the stat itself. But it's a lot worse for GP than for a marksmen.

In a late game team fight, a marksmen is going to shoot a lot of times. If Jinx has 40% crit chance, and fires 10-15 times, she is probably going to end up critting on about 40% of her shots. Across a lot of shots, the randomness will even out somewhat.

But barrels are hard to hit, and have a relatively long cooldown. GP might only land 1-3 barrels in a team fight. With 40% crit chance, he could pretty easily crit on 0% of his barrels or 100% of his barrels in a team fight. That's an enormous difference.

Losing that 20% crit chance makes GP feel even less reliable and more beholden to RNJesus than he did before. If Riot wants GP to be satisfying to play and satisfying to play against, I feel like they really need to find a way to level out his randomness a little.

Maybe he could build stacks by landing barrels/parrrleys. Amount of stacks gained depends on his crit chance. At 100 stacks he auto crits (but can't crit aside from that).

Or maybe Riot just needs to release another AD/Crit chance item. Right now there are only 2. Being able to get back to 60% crit chance late game (without wasting an item slot/gold) would already feel a lot better. I'm sure there are some other champions who might appreciate another CC/AD options as well (some of the more caster-like marksmen).

Also, for the record, I don't think GP is underpowered. I just think he's incredibly unreliable. Which can be annoying to play with and play against. An increase in reliability might warrant a nerf somewhere on his kit. I'm fine with that.

TL;DR: At 40% crit chance, GP's kit is too random.

wow, don't get trinity... PD + IE is 50 % crit chance. You don't have mana problems with flask. If you want sheen, get iceborn; if you wanna phage - get cleaver.
