Can we reduce Galio's mana costs?
There are a lot of aspects of Galio's kit that are a little dated. I imagine that Riot is planning on giving him a least a minor rework at some point. But, in the mean time, can we reduce his mana costs? This is easily the biggest issue that keeps him from seeing play, in my opinion. He has a relatively strong kit, but his laning phase as absolutely abysmal right now due to his crippling mana costs.
The problem has only gotten worse this pre-season. Chalice of harmony was a recommended item on Galio even before Athenes was released. Athenes has always been core on him since it was added to the game. Every time it's nerfed, he becomes a little less viable. With the across-the-board mana regen nerfs, Galio has crippling mana problems even after he completes athenes.
The problem is exacerbated by Galio's auto attack. He's a slow AP champion with a melee auto attack. In lane, he cannot safely last hit with autos. If he runs out of mana, he can't harass his opponent or safely farm. His mana problems often mean that he has to choose between trying to CS and trying to interact with his opponents--he doesn't have the resources to do both.
There's other, more complicated aspects of his kit that deserve to be looked at. But in the mean time, would it kill Riot to slightly reduce the mana cost on his Q? I love Galio's theme. I love his mid/late game play style. I love his aesthetic design--he's one of the only flying champions who looks decent. But his mana costs are too big of an issue for me to consistently pick him.
, it might actually be all it takes to get him back into regular play, I know I would play him a lot more if his mana sustain wasn't so bad, I already have his legendary skin.
Just to name a few
