Darius's rework was mothballed waiting for art resources January 2014, fastforward to now

And it's cancelled and they are looking for QOL buffs.

There was a post on GD(rip in pieces) in a thread where I can't remember which rioter had said that GP's rewok was hot and Darius's was reasonably hot with his rework finished just mothballed waiting for art resources.

Fast forwards 5-6 months later the whole rework got scratched and now they are looking for QOL buffs for Darius.

What was wrong with that rework?

Was it bad for Darius, the enemy team, his team, or for everybody?

The world may never know, Riot has pretty much been MIA from the community for a while.

I imagine Riot decided it was pointless. Morello said that even after the rework Darius' main weakness would still be his kitability. Since he'd be unviable after the rework, they probably figured there would be no reason to submit it since nothing would change.

But Cassio still happened.

But Cassio still happened.

Not the best example. That rework was horrible from the start, and almost everyone agrees. Plus it was headed by another Rioter, so there would be different views on what would be better for their champion. I was honestly excited about the Darius rework, what they described was someone I could really love to master, but I guess that'll never happen.

It's a good thing they nerfed his pull range and pull animation speed, right? I seriously think the conversation goesl ike this:

Morello: Man Darius is too kitable. Random developer: Maybe cause we nerfed his pull range and pull animation? Morello: If only there was something we could do about his kitability! **Random developer: **Maybe we could unnerf his pull range and pull animation? Morello: Damn the fates if only we could make him less kitable! **Random developer: **Maybe we could unnerf his pull range and pull animation? Morello: Well there's nothing we can do, scrap the rework.

The only thing they could really do is make him less overpowered against people without mobility or escapes or anybody that wants to melee him, but that would just make him worse against people that just kite him.

Yet he is still one of the better bruisers. At least he has some CC and an easy button ult that makes building full tank on him a thing. Take poor Garen for example. People expect him to tank, but he has no crowd control to speak of except a single target silence, if he doesn't build damage the enemy team will have no reason to target him, if he does build damage he gets yelled at by his team for not building health, which if he does all he really contributes to a teamfight is killing an escapee with an execute ult that is far surpassed by Darius, Riven and hell...even Jinx

The same in happening with Yorick's and Warwick's kit reworks. They were up, and the release time for them was expected to be around this summer or early fall, but got nothing.

Xelnath's Yorick experiment didn't last very long. Warwick is most likely getting a VU and a gameplay update at the same time.

Warwick's VU and Rework aren't canned, they were just put behind Sion.
