No, just because you're the midlaner doesn't mean you're entitled to blue.

My camps are the same as your lane minions. They're my gold, they're my experience, and if I give you any of it then you damn well better say thank you. I never have a laner offer me a Cannon minion, so it shouldn't be expected for me to share my shit with you.

EDIT: Some people seem to be misunderstanding. If i'm playing Rengar, by all means I'll give you blue. If I'm playing a Jungler that is super mana-hungry, you can't have blue. The reason for this is that by giving you blue, I handicap myself and I trust myself to carry over a stranger I just met 10 minutes ago.

If you have an AP mid laner, you should ALWAYS give him blue buff unless you really need XP (like, you were afk for 10 minutes). Gives your mid laner a better chance to win his lane, free advantage for him, more AP scaling on their abilities and junglers already have free mana regen from their jungler item, ...

Unless your mid laner is 0/5, then that would be giving a free blue to the enemy. But blue buff is way more profitable on an AP mid than ANY jungler since laners can use the buff to its full potential.

If you want your team to perform worse than they otherwise could just for the sake of getting what "belongs" to you then yeah, your mid laner shouldn't take blue, but as long as your team has a mana-using, AP-scaling carry then you are gimping your team for the sake of being selfish. Your thinking is immediately obvious as faulty because you view blue buff as nothing more than a source of gold and experience, when it is clear that your mid laner does not want it for those things. If mid laners could offer you something that'd help you clear the jungle/gank better then I'm sure you'd get it quite a lot and be upset if they denied it to you because "muh farm".

Don't call this a PSA when most people who play jungle and want their team to perform well do not agree with anything you're saying. My mid laners are absolutely entitled to my blue as long as they're performing well and can make use of what boosts it offers. It's stupid to complain about losing farm to your mid laner taking blue when no jungler ever keeps up perfectly with farming the other camps as it is. If I want more farm I'll just clear the other camps a bit more quickly than I usually will - losing one camp every five minutes is completely irrelevant in comparison.

Not to mention that most junglers I've seen take the small creeps, so it's not even losing a full camp unless the jg is super generous.

Exactly. At the point where experience matters, the mid will be securing the buff from over the wall. You've no real reason not to kill the small creeps at that point. When the game has gotten to the point where the mid is taking the camp on their own, the experience is something you can pass up on, and you're probably spending time in lanes killing minions on occasion regardless.

i agree, last time i checked blue buff is in the jungle and not in lane

as a mid laner i will never ask for blue, and as the jungler i will not give the first few blues for sure

When I'm mid I don't ever really ask for blues because I can survive without it, but I'm always a bit surprised/disappointed if the jungler doesn't offer it at any point. I don't have a right to blues but they really do make a difference, which is why as a jungler I always check to see if the mid laner is in a position to take blue when I'm in ready to kill it. If they're in a position where they can take blue at all, I'll offer it. It's better on them than me at most stages of the game.

I don't tax lanes at all, even if I don't get the kill. Assist gold is enough, those aren't my creeps. Junglerd that tax are assholes.
