Yes I know he is SUPPOSED to counter them, but the disparity between AP defensive options and AD defensive options is honestly quite gross.

This combined with the hyper-oppressive nature of zed when ahead (similar to but slightly worse than most other assassins) makes him seem "op" to most people.

I just think he isn't fun to play against, but understand that he does have inherent weaknesses.

The only way mages can deal with zed is if they are given an armor+mana+cdr regen item. That is the main reason he is so dominant. He presents a catch 22 to mages. Do I:

1. Buy a mana regen item and build zhonyas 2nd?

Then he will all in me every time until then and theres nothing you can do about it except group asap and hope you have enough peel.

2. Buy zhonas and just make it with 2 dorans?

He will shove the lane and roam forcing you to use spells to farm with your pitiful mana regen. Oh and btw, zhonyas will also take forever to build so good luck with that too.
