"Rammus is an early game gank jungler"

Has worse ganks than Nautilus at every point in the game, whom outscales him hard, clears faster and teamfights far better. Virtually unjustifiable unless the entire enemy team is AD.

His early game isn't very good (Despite the implication to the contrary by the patch notes), and he falls off. His only use is CC, and Nautilus is THE KING of CC.

Rammus has a great level 3 gank. If the enemy has no escapes:

You run in behind the enemy. Q to slow them for 3 seconds by 20% and knock them closer to your turret/teammate. After the slow wears off, you E them to taunt them for 1.25 seconds while lowering their armor. Depending on how much damage your laner does, you can taunt and then run closer to your teammate rather than attacking.

If the enemy has flash or some other escape:

You just run in behind, let them blow flash or their escape. Then you powerball to catch up, try to hit them from the bottom or top so you don't knock them back, then taunt and run back to your teammate.

His early ganks are INSANE.

If you can get behind the enemy. Nautilus will CC them for all eternity. If he ISN'T behind them, he'll just gapclose in with his hook from 1,100 away.

If the enemy has flash/escape, he can open with Depth Charge then Dredge Line their flash. That's the benefit of having more CC than Rammus has >_>.

His early game ganks are just not superior. He's simply easier to use. Yes, he can bypass wards or lane gank using Powerball. Nautilus can do the same thing if you aren't completely oblivious to how vision control works.

I am not comparing him to Naut. Your post is making fun of Riot for saying he is a great early game gank jungler, when in fact, he is.

I was being generous by comparing him to another tank. We can take a look at his competition for early game pressuring >_>.

Friendly reminder:

Elise (Cocoon): 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 / 2 Rammus (Taunt): 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 / 2.25

EARLY GAME, Elise's disable is stronger. I don't feel I need to compare their damage.

Lee Sin has an instant gap closer, a slow, an amazing ultimate displacement ability and incredible damage. The proof is in the pudding. Lee Sin was pick/ban for 2 seasons.

Xin Zhao has a gapcloser knock-up, 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% slow, if you're behind them a knockback displacement and much higher damage.

Shaco is infamous for his early game pressure because of his early game cheese on top of stacking incredible damage, a gapcloser, stealth and both hard and soft CC into the same kit. When played properly, anuses will be clinched.

That's only half of Rammus's CC. Not to mention, Rammus can take A LOT more damage than Elise.

Rammus gets behind an enemy much easier than Nautilus.

Besides that, you pick Rammus to be a damage tank, not to be a CC tank. He has less CC than literally any other tank, but comparably a higher damage potential.

Generally you're right. BUT: You pick Rammus for CC that rolls at enemies with Mach 3. His trademark is the way he engages, not so much the cc itself.

I completely understand that. It's simply my contention that it doesn't make him worth a pick.

rammus has awesome pre 6 ganks, especially before the enemies first back, at that stage its a flat 2v1, and his E+W is enough to win it, just a few autos is all it takes.

my major problem is when he doesn't get any ganks off, and then hes just kinda.... meh, go taunt an adc.... or else you're just irrelevant.

and your team mates yell at you for "sucking" when they push non stop, dont win a 1v1, instead get ganked and die. "my fault" for not "warding for them" or "why didn't you towerdive for that?!?!"
