I Shouldn't Have to Say This
If you win a game because the other team had an AFK, don't put gg ez or similar snark into all-chat.
Especially if it's Ranked. We already feel bad.

Just don't say gg ez at all it's incredibley rude and any one who says this is the scum of the earth
anyone who says this is the scum of the earth
Lots of times, the two teams in a game get along and joke with each other, and I've personally had a lot of games where BOTH teams say "ggez" as a joke to one another, being funny.
Hell, I even say it when I LOSE, just to keep a funny attitude about it and to keep the salt away.
Not ANYBODY who says "ggez" should be looked down upon. Just those who say it to demean the enemy team.
The game ends 32-7 and you lose.
" lol gg ez i killed ur vayne so pls ff "
" nah u ff "
" fuck "
Surrenders.
" GGEZ totally won that by killing Vayne. :B "
Alternatively (what I actually do):
Game ends 18-3, my team loses "ggez close game"
That RARELY happens. It's even more annoying when someone just gives up so he can "have his fun" by basically AFKing via going to baron pit, dancing, and going to all chat saying "dance at baron" or goes to play "Base football".
It's even worse than toxicity to do those things.
Well I mean unless an
is there. Then that's when crap gets confusing as hell.
anyone who calls someone scum is scum. oh wait...
THE SCUM WHO CALLS SOMEONE THAT CALLS SOMEBODY ELSE SCUM IS THE TRUE SCUM!
I drop gg ez at the end of a long and intense game if our team lost. (Gets penta'd in the biggest outplay of the century) "gg ez" Honestly don't see a problem with it.

Just report them. They WILL get banned.
Banning people for saying "easy" is beyond stupid.
Why? It's unsportsmanslike, like a lot of other things. They might not get banned, but they will get punished in some way, which might make them stop being pr*cks.
Its legitametely the least harmful way of trash talk. People act like saying gg ez is the same as telling them to kill themselves. Get over it. Either use ignore all or get that it's a game and what people say doesn't matter.
Assuming Trash talk is OK among strangers? Among friends, if everyone is cool with it, of course there is nothing wrong because it's all joking. But trash talking to strangers can be taken as you TRYING to be offensive even if you aren't. Being offensive is cause for punishment as it is unsportsmanlike conduct. Similar to not destroying the Nexus when it is openly available for the win.
If you don't destroy the Nexus that is a choice, not being a dick, it potentially gives you a chance to backdoor and take theirs un-expectantly, and maybe their mid wants to get a better score so they go for more kills. If you got somewhere to go and want it to end, you shouldn't have queued in the first place. Trash talking to strangers is common in almost any sport or game, its a part of it. Either learn to handle the fact that sometimes its gonna happen or rethink your decision to get this game. GG EZ is not offensive, in fact whenever someone says it to me after a bad game I don't care, I say it back. Idk maybe I'm just able to handle something so little and un-offensive.
Refusing to destroy the nexus when it is openly available is considered unsportsmanlike conduct, as is intentionally offensive trash talk. You CAN get banned for these things. Even in professional sports things like this get you fined. Delaying the game for your own satisfaction is disrespectful and punishable. If you want more kills, end the game and start a new one. The opposing team are not your toys. And no matter where you go, purposely trying to get a negative reaction out of others for your own entertainment is not acceptable.
Yeah I'd love to see the day a ban happens. You said in professional sports you can get banned for that. First off, nobody in sports would even use gg ez and it isn't even an actual insult that a sports player would take heavy offense to. Its not trying to get a negative reaction, majority of the time you say gg ez and everyone clicks home before any actual serious words can be spoke. Nobody claimed the enemy was your toys, and if they get offended at gg ez enough to provoke an emotional response then they should not be playing games at all.

So, let people do what they want and don't improve anything? Good idea.
That's not even what I said, and you completely ignored what I did say. Freedom of Speech is one of the freedoms offered in most nations where people can play games and if you don't like it then mute them, problem solved. It's up to you to do something about it, you want Riot to ban everyone who says "gg ez", there goes a big population of the people who play and buy RP.

It's not freedom of speech. You are playing on Riot's servers in their game and they say you can't. You agree to this when you play and accept the terms of service. Freedom of Speech doesn't protect you from people shunning and banning you for what you say. If Riot doesn't want you in their house, that is their right.
You still ignore most of what I say. I said freedom of speech is something where you and live that is allowed. Riot doesn't stop that from still being a right. And Riot explicitly says to mute toxic players. And I think Riot is fine with people saying gg ez in their house as no repercussions seem to happening.

Riot has never once said it's OK to say GG EZ. It's a bannable offense. It's unsportsmanlike conduct. You are ignoring what I'm saying. Read the Summoner's Code. You don't get to be an asshole. You don't get Freedom of Speech on an online service. You seem to feel that you are entitled to play this game, ignore the rules and do whatever you like.
Nobody gets banned for it. You need to be a repeat offender to be banned and the only people who report are the ones like you, who can't take on tiny comment and go crazy over it. I don't feel entitled to play this game, but you seem to think you're entitled to censor everyone you dislike.
We have a report system. Discussing how this report system ought to be used shouldn't be grounds to be told to just "get over it". I can assure you I get over each gg easy without much problem, but I'll still participate in a discussion about whether this is punishable and report worthy.
I'm fine with reporting whoever they like, it just means their reports aren't going to have much weight if they continue. By "get over it" I mean for people to stop acting like its such a big deal and demanding for bans on people who say it.
Well, big deal or not, it's still unsportsmanslike after the definition, hence in my opinion is punishable. Now banning them for it might take it too far, but I feel it definitely should count when someone is about to get a chat restriction, for instance. Manners need be taught. Also, the people I see writing such is usually also the kind that flames during a match. More often than not, that's what I've observed.
The flamers should be punished, specifically for flaming, not so much gg ez. I don't flame majority of the time unless something like a troll is in my game, and I say gg ez when I lose or win. Its the severity of the action that warrants its own punishment, not just the occurrence of it.
That's ridiculous. Why is everyone so soft? Saying "Gg easy" should be bannable? That's so stupid to even think about.
I know, these people act like it gives them PTSD
while it does seem like a small thing. its just totally out of place in ranked where your suppose to be sportsmanlike.
saying gg ez is like a football players talking trash to the losing team. its just wrong man.

Take a chill pill, might help against the severe case of caps that you've got.
I agree, and can't believe how many down votes you got.....
Cause these boards are full of (low elo) kids who don't know that trash talking is part of any kind of sports.

If you show unsportsmanlike conduct in most sanctioned sports, you can be fined.
But you don't get banned from the game rofl. And only extreme insults actually lead to fines in sports. Never heard of a player getting fined for telling his opponents the game was easy.

Dude, NFL definitely fines players for their conduct.
They don't fine players for saying easy....

You get penalized for over celebrating in the endzone. Same thing. Dont be an asshole.
they WILL NOT GET BANNED. They will only get banned if they were toxic throughout the whole course of the game.. Riot's system does not recognize GG EZ as offensive because it does not check champions in the game only chat logs, and that only saves summoner name and what they said.
Or just disable your all chat because nothing good usually comes out of it.
I had a game about a year back, one of my buddies and I were doing and there was a guy on the other team that was nice and we were casually chatting during down time. At the end of the game we asked him to join us and the three of us still play together a decent amount each week
true story, I disabled all chat the moment it was possible and my games have been more pleasant ever since
Mute people who started to spam or just being rude etc. Muting everyone upfront without any good reason just shows lack of respect to other person + you have less communication with your teammates. There are some good people out there, somewhere between pricks and savage kids that you can have fun during the game. --Obviously if you see jungler cursing your whole family and your dog because you gave him one AA less leach then report and he will get banned 100% im sure !
I do this and my win rate sky rocketed. went from 35 to about 60 percent. Coincidence?
I don't think so , Illuminoti
But then you couldn't see me make absolutely unbearable puns every time I play
.
Serious question: could saying "gg" be bad too?
If they put up an honest effort and it wasn't a complete stomp then I feel just saying "gg" could be more an admiration of their effort and acknowledgement that they still had the chance of winning at points in the game. Saying that when it was a stomp or when the enemy team grouped all 4 of themselves into one lane at all points of a game, then "gg" might be unwarranted.
No, saying "gg" after the game is over is a way of showing good sportsmanship like in baseball or soccer when the game is over, the two opposing teams get together and shake hands. The only way that saying "gg" can be seen as a bad thing is if it is said before the game is actually over, like when someone says "gg" if the other team gets first blood.
