@Meddler please compensate Illaoi if you nerf DFT

I know you're nerfing it because of the caster ADCs but the change hurts Illaoi most.

She's already gotten a handful of indirect nerfs with the changes to meditation and Cleaver giving less AD. And all I ask for is this:

  • Illaoi can now stack fervor of battle on souls

This is the only interaction where the soul is not considered a champion. If it's intended that I can use summoner spells on the soul, that Grasp, DFT and Thunderlords can all apply to it, I think Fervor should too.

Thank you.

damage was nerfed across the board and illaoi did not lose any healing.

She has already been compensated.

I don't really play Illaoi much myself, so I'm genuinely curious.

Is DFT common on her?

I would think that Grasp would be more common.

grasp is bad

Illaoi takes either DFT (better against tanky teams, spellvamp builds) or SRS (lethality build/anti-slow build)

Well that just goes to show how little I know about playing her.

Do you tend to play her more offensive/bruiser or more of a resistance/sustain tank?

Can you give me an example of your typical build?

depends on enemy comp/how fed I'm getting

usually it's item 3071 item 3053 item 3812 item 3065 item 3047 /item 3111 item 3143

if I've built lethality/have it in my runes and masters, or if I'm fed and the opponent is a squishy champion, then I may swap Sterak's or DD for a item 3142, if they're particularly AP heavy then item 3156 is better than Sterak's.

there are a couple of higher elo Illaoi players who build item 3078 item 3071 but I've never been fond of it

I have 860k mastery on illaoi myself and i perfer Thunderlords and Fervor over DFT. Thunderlords is better in lane and increases your burst when ganked (it's also an AoE so it can be amplified by spirits). Fervor i prefer for extended fights including teamfights as its essentially 100 damage per tentacle hit (per second) instead of 58ish (per 2 seconds).

I honestly never used SRS because i build Youmuus and will run ghost or exhaust often in addition to having the randiuns.

i run Lethality marks, spellvamp quints, AD Seals and Glyphs. item 3071 item 3812 item 3026 item 3142 item 3065 item 3143 usual optional items item 3053//item 3156 , item 3078//item 3025

Question: with thunderlords can you kill just by hitting the spirit? Because I thought the spirit damage wasn't lethal.

Big Lincoln2 votes

You can kill with anything

Spirit damage becomes fatal of you take more damage than the spirit.

Like, in a 1v1 of you get double slapped you will take a % of damage from the spirit and the direct hit to you, which will put you at lower HP then the spirit. In a scenario like this, assuming that doing more damage to the spirit will kill you, it becomes fatal.

SRS is amazing my dude, try it into a lane that can kite or has heavy slows like Tryndamere and gangplank

also good in teamfight to shrug off slow spams from supports

I take Tlords into GP for sure and force trades whenever he Qs. And i take ghost in the Tryn matchups but i take my advantages pre6 seriously against him
