The Top Side of the Map is Nearly Completely Useless

The entire game should be the Middle Lane and the Bottom Lane with a Jungle in between. The top side of the map holds no value in the current state of the game other than just some additional towers. There is absolutely no reason to apply any pressure to Top Lane in the beginning stages of the game since ADCs have been designed to be the primary class at ending the game (killing groups of champion and towers) and Elder Dragon is now in the Bottom side of the map, which is in honesty better than Baron Nashor since the buff it gives is always useful, in and out of champion combat, and gives more value the better you are doing. You cannot compare Dragons to the Rift Monsters because they are just far too different in importance. Rift Herald is a buff that shuts down when near allies and is only a small buff in stats that lasts for 20 minutes. The cost is that Rift Herald itself is harder to kill than Dragon and might actually kill you. Same goes with Baron Nashor and Elder Dragon. Elder Dragon is 100% able to be solo'd by champions at a certain stage of the game. There aren't any mechanics for it that make it not so except high stats, which can be outdone. Meanwhile, Baron Nashor has SEVERAL mechanics to make it unable to be solo'd and, in my opinion, provides a lower payout. Even Elder Dragon by itself is better since the true damage DoT it provides is absolutely fantastic for adding damage to a fight, making even Supports deal moderate damage if left alive. In the next Mid-Season Update or sooner, this NEEDS to be fixed. The only reason the top side of the map exists is for there to be a Top Lane. That is it. So much is decided at the Bottom Side of the map currently that whoever wins Top Lane is entirely trivial to the outcome unless both Bottom Lanes end the lane even. That's the top side of the map right now. The Backup Plan if the Bottom Side ends up even.

Oh God I cannot fathom how true this is, I've been playing Irelia top lately, and no matter how well I do or how trash I do, the bot lane is always the deciding factor in a game.

tl;dr Top lane is an island, this shouldn't change. If you don't like it leave it alone, no one will care.

Top Lane shouldn't be an island.

y not

I'd be fine with it being an island if Riot didn't hate lane bullies so much

Elder Dragon's power depends on how many drakes you've taken. If you have taken drakes all game then he's harder than if you've taken none. Elder is pretty much for the last teamfight if you're having a difficult time actually sweeping the board, while Baron is just for either A. defending your base from being taken easily, or B. for that one last push to take the enemy's. They both have similar executions in that sweeping the enemy team can give you a win just like baron can, but sometimes the safer method is more useful in situations like close games. Rift herald is rarely taken that I've seen, though it's nice to have when it is taken(those procs on towers are really nice). It's not near as hard as it used to be to take though and you can 2 man it, though 3 man would be easier and you should probably do that if you plan on taking it. I do agree though it feels like top lane you have to win your lane 2x harder to be relevant compared to ADCs. It just seems like one bot lane gets like 15 kills and the other one has 15 deaths lately.

Poor Rift Herald.

9 times out of 10 when I'm jungling, there's no opportunity to take it. And 9 times out of 10 when there is an opportunity, everybody wants to recall instead.

Make the Rift Herold buff holder instantly execute Baron as soon as the big worm drops below 25% HP.

Instantly desirable.
