So I have been struggling against a lucian in lane since the recent buff to bork. How do you beat him in lane? I mainly play trist, cait and twitch.
Trist really struggle because of his weak early game. go bork on him? Cait have trouble landing my Q because of his dash. I out range him but soon as he gets bork I lose trades due to the lack of sustain with IE and zeal Twitch i do the best on but i just struggle with his early game in general.
OtterlyLost2 votesTrist is a she. As for how you win in lane, unless the Lucian is garbage, you just flatly don't. BoRK is good on Trist but I always build it third; I tried it as a first item in a few games and wasn't especially impressed.
The best way to handle Lucian in laning phase is to look at the situation, accept that he's better early game and in early game trades, and then try to survive laning... and then mid game because Trist is ass midgame as well. If you can keep your farm up, not die too much, and maybe pick up some assists or kills in teamfights, you will eventually out scale Lucian just because of how Tristana works. The kind of support you have also helps a lot. A good defensive support like Nami actually does really well against Lucian. Nami or even Lulu since Lulu's polymorph screws him up.
Dodge the Q's in lane and try to stay out of his dash/AA range which is relatively easy. Track his CDs and trade with him when they are down. So if he just used Q on the minions, you can make a small, quick AA trade with him as long as you're wary of his support as well.
Caitlyn has a much easier time against Lucian. I personally probably use my Q less than I should but what I like to do with Cait, especially against short ranged champs like Lucian, is I like to let him push into me and then freeze and block him and his support out with traps. Cait is an excellent freezer and its actually relatively easy to do if you don't use your Q on the wave. I like to max traps as well, which is partly why I don't use the Q as much. Caitlyn is a lane bully in a way that's different from Lucian and is, honestly, worse. She's a control ADC; her traps are about controlling the enemy laner and zoning them out. Its especially good if you have good wave management. Freezing just outside of your turret by only last hitting forces the enemy laner to either come up and be over extended(and ergo, vulnerable to ganks) or they have to accept that you have frozen and that they are now zoned. Coming up against a Cait is fairly difficult already when she's frozen just because of traps and her extended range. And it eliminates one of her biggest weaknesses which is jungle camping; Cait is very fragile to jungler camps but its pretty hard for a jungler to gank her if she's frozen under turret.
I don't play Twitch so I don't have as much information on him. I think the best thing to do is to try and survive until six and then make a roam happen with your ult and stealth. Twitch is actually ridiculously good at roaming for an AD so after 6, hard push the wave, back, and then try and get a roam off. I once lost a game because the enemy twitch roamed top of all things and got a double and then snowballed off that.

its all about the support you have if you see enemy go Lucian and your support is willing to switch champions to one that has some hard cc then Lucian isn't going to survive much in lane. but if bork is a problem try countering the item with an early
