Yasuo players, please help me understand : is .5 sec cooldown mobility REALLY something Yasuo needs?

So I forgot to ban Yasuo like I normally do, and had to deal with him hopping all over the place near-infinitely because there's almost no cooldown on it and between that and Wind Wall it's almost impossible to land anything on that weaboo fuck.

So I'm curious to hear the other side from people who play him more than I do, is it really necessary that he can leap around so much with all the other survival tools that he has? Because it's aggravating as fuck and I just don't see being so rapidly mobile and uncatchable without point-clicks is either balanced OR fair to the enemy.

The dash cannot be cast twice on the same target, and the cooldown doesn't start till after the dash. However it is still powerful when used for wave segways.

it's 0.1 sec actually on lvl 5

let not forget his windwall, his shield , his cc his passive for free crit chance and free armor pen

but ill be ok with a nerf to his dash

Right? He has plenty of survival tools, it just doesn't feel right that he's ALSO uncatchable unless you bring one of the last three or four point-click mages to the field.

it's worth noting that the cooldown doesn't start until after the dash is fully completed

yasuo's dash is really not nearly as OP as it sounds on paper. a lot of the time his dash requires him to commit to a fight due to it being limited by targets/minions which is a part of the reason that he is so easy to gank.

and despite what you say, it's not as hard as you think to land skillshot abilities on him if he's just using his E. his mobility, again, is limited by minions as well.

but yes, it's necessary for him to have mobility. the only reason yasuo can have any success is because he has so much mobility. the only other "survival tools" that he has are gated by extremely long cooldowns.

I dunno, in practice it's extremely annoying for me to have to play against. The massively short cooldown means he can spam it really fast and there's no way I can see to catch him with a skillshot ability when he's got a cluster of minions to hop around in. There's no way I can see to catch him except to stand away from my minions to limit his mobility options, which means I'm either on his end of the lane eating minion fire or standing in the back losing exp.

i have plenty experience as and against yasuo, especially as skillshot mages and i'll tell you, standing away from your minions will work. there is a huge range for you to earn xp from minions, and you should also be able to cs just fine if you take my advice.

here are a few things that will help you win vs yasuo in lane.

1: let him push toward you.

yasuo's abilities will quickly push the wave toward your tower, and if the wave is by you, it should be VERY easy for you to deny yasuo cs and get cs of your own easily. if you can, try to freeze the wave around here: http://i.imgur.com/bXysIjb.jpg (where the red circle is). if you can't freeze it there, at least try to get the wave under your turret. if you're good at csing and know how to prepare minions, it should be easy to get cs from here.

2: pop his shield with an auto attack

it's really easy for yasuo to lose a trade if he doesn't have his shield up so if you get an opportunity to pop his shield, make sure to do it. remember, he's still a melee champion so he has to go toward you for him to do damage or cs.

3: get your jungler to gank

yasuo is arguably the easiest champion in the game to gank. if he's ahead it can be risky but assuming you haven't gotten destroyed by him early on, jungler ganks are the best way to win your lane against him. he has no reliable escape besides flash and a lot of junglers are really good at shutting down his mobility.

4: once you're able to, constantly shove the wave toward his tower, then roam.

once you're level 6 and have enough damage to quickly clear the minion wave, just do that and then roam. make sure to buy a pink ward for the river to make sure that your gank isn't being seen. this is one of the most effective strategies versus yasuo.

hope i could help

So, play the "don't feed" game then focus on other targets instead of engaging him directly?

Ruin Lance1 votes

basically. of course you can still beat him without doing that, but it's probably the easiest way to make sure he doesn't get ahead if you're a skillshot mage.

and also in later teamfights you should be able to blow him up if he tries to ignore you

as a shaco main, i find yasuos easy and laughable at best

Strawberrycocoa1 votes

Do you lane Shaco, or just gank him a lot?

oSEXYPLATYPUSo1 votes

shaco jungle ganking yasou is what he is talking about... shaco stupid strong early and counters what yasou wants to do shaco does bonus damage from the back , windwall dont protect his back side lol and you cant knock up a target you cant see

I always feed with Yasuo mid, because the enemy Xin, Gragas, Vi etc know that Yasuo will try to kill their laner and camp whole game...
