Look Im ok with You putting me where you want to put me to speed up matchmaking as a result of your flaw in only making some roles have power/fun to play. But it just so happens I only have 2 rune pages and Cannot in the slightest anticipate where Im going to be accept for games where I am "Protected". Its not exactly balanced if I go into que and get autofilled into something like mid and I don't have any midlaner rune pages set up becasue Im assuming I will get support.. I mean wtf is this seriously.. I actually get autofilled as bot and mid just as often as I do Support.. So your whole theory that people arent playing support enough is total bullshit, or just doesn't apply to the elo I am stuck in currently. And part of the reason Im trapped in this elo is becasue I never have any clue what Im going to be playing. How to fit into a teamcomp.. How to somehow make my adc runes work with Nasus becasue you filled me top.. If you want to keep this RNG system going then you might as well go full blown rng with it. Take runes out of the game, and give us a random champion to play like ARAM. My que times are hellishly long compared to what they were months ago which tells me right there that you are losing players left and right over this support issue.. How about releasing 3 new support champs, that actually influence the game, and are fun to play.. Give us shit like sightstone passively when we are support, and more starting item options that actually make nonsupports support worthy.. The role is boring and everyone knows it.

That doesn't even make sense.

If 10,000 people stop playing because they're feed up with Auto Fill, then most of those players (if not all) would play roles other than Support, since Supports have Auto Fill protection. That in turn would mean the ratio of Support's to other roles goes up, which would mean faster queue times with fewer Auto Filled players.

You can't say "players are leaving the game" and "queue times are getting longer". The only way that holds true is if most of those leaving are Supports.

I'm not even sure they did go up, but if they did it certainly wouldn't be from a lack of players.

And no, this isn't a "if the shoe fits" scenario, I already pointed out how it's not fitting. About the only situation where losing players would increase queue times is if you were losing more Support than any other role, since Supports are the current bottleneck in matchmaking.

That is what's more likely to be causing your queue times to increase. You're already in Bronze 5 and you're throwing away games that matchmaking expects you to be able to win. That makes matchmaking try to find even worse players to put you with/against, but when you throw those too you start running into the situation where there aren't many people left to match you with. Matchmaking then does what it does on the other end of the spectrum, making you wait longer as it slowly widens the range of players it looks for to match you with, because it's trying to find the best match for your skill level.

Stop throwing games and your queue times will be fine.

Anything draft related before Season 6 is completely unusable for comparing Queue Times, since Role Selection drastically altered queue times. If you want to compare Blind Pick times that's still valid (and in my experience, pretty much the same as before).

Season 6 had vastly fluctuating queue times month to month, in large part due to matchmaking changes that were being tested out.

Season 7 has continued with changes to the matchmaking algorithm (remember the post in preseason how Plats/Diamonds were being placed in Bronze due to matchmaking bugs?).

Regardless, League's player base is large enough that it's not the total number of players causing queue time issues.

Last season was better with both getting the role I wanted and que times. And again ur wrong Que times have gone up by minutes and get longer and longer as the months go by. I know because I've been playing for years now.

no one should have to play a role they dont enjoy and/or aren't their best at (especially in ranked) it's that simple

If that's how you feel, the solution is simple. Find 4 other people to play Ranked with and you'll never be Auto Filled again.

I can't think of a game where random people are put on the same team and each of them always gets the role they want. Either learn to enjoy more roles, get good at more roles, or get a team together.

then it wouldnt be solo queue honestly. and i shouldnt have to learn roles i dont want to lol. we just had a system that gave you the roles you wanted. does anyone not remember draft before autofill? or are you such a noob you werent here before it was implemented. pick order was trash so they fixed. then they un-fixed it with autofill. it's just trash. idc if it only happens every thirty fucking games. it shouldnt happen at all. and if ur gonna make me play something i had no intention on playing then i dont want to hear shit about who i choose to play with.

honestly league was a place where you got the lane you wanted.. now you dont and you act like it never happened lol shut that shit up honestly

I was around for Pick Order, when you statistically got your desired role 65% of the time. It was also a time when you could have a secondary role of Support and not get it 90% of the time.

I had to give up that secondary because of the new Draft Pick role assignments. I have no objection to Supporting, but I object to being a 24/7 Support.

As I recall (there was some post about it, not my own experience) Auto Fill provides enough Supports that going Mid/Support doesn't get you Support 90% of the time. It improves the experience for those who queue secondary Support, increasing the number of potential Supports, which in turn makes Auto Fill itself less need. It's a change that probably need to be there at the start of Season 6 in order to avoid pushing all the Fill/Support Secondary players away from those roles.

You're right, it wasn't my argument. But you didn't give an example of another game/sport/activity where people always got the role they wanted, thus choosing to ignore that argument.

People wanted to play Support, they just didn't want to play it all the time.

I agree this whole mess started with Riot's naive implementation of the new champion select. If they'd put a limit on how often you could get your secondary, or a limit on how many times in a row Fill could give you the same position, the masses wouldn't have Auto Fill. But they didn't fix it that way, they focused on fixing the queue for the minority in Challenger, Master, and high Diamond. For that group, Auto Fill probably was the right solution. Once they had a solution that solution rolled down to the rest of us, but it was about a year too late to do much good, the damage of the naive system has been done.

Yeah well thats again the choice of the player.. I would rather wait the 2 minutes to get the role I wanted instead of waiting 3 minutes now to get whatever. The system made que times worst not better. The que times went up by 60% since the implementation of auto-fill.

I love how morons down vote and agree with riot.. They dont realize the idiots who are fine with the game going to shit are the only ones left on the game (or are satisfied with it) and the numbers of players are legitimately dropping each month by massive amounts. Im about to leave the game over it. There are better MOBAS out there, and I'm at this point willing to pay to have fun. This game by no means is a top game because of balance.. it is a top game because it used to be fun and free.. Now its just free and mediocre.

The same exact situation happened to the Halo Franchise that will inevitably happen here.

People will complain about the wrong things.. Which they do all the time.. Riot will only focus on fixing the game the incorect way, and force the game to change in non optimal ways. Slowly the base will leave.. and the base that it is left will continue to drive the game in the opposite direction of where it belongs.. Making less and less popular until eventually noone plays it.
