So wait.... Why is Ekko AP? i am sure he would be an AD champion...

I mean he has a lot of auto attack buffs in his kit so wouldn't it make sense for him to be AD? Why is he AP? Building stuff like BORK, Phantom dancer would be insane.. if he was AD. Thanks in advance for the responses! :)

I'm pretty sure, the way his kit is designed, he could probably go either build. With AP, you get more damage through his abilities and passive. With AD, you'd be using his abilities for the utility--the slows, stun, blink, MS burst and self-heal--and deal your damage through attacks.

Either way, you're going to be sticking to a fight for DPS, so I don't see why people can't at least try both paths when he's released.

He has a quote for buying Gunblade and I think Trinity Force, so I'm sure Riot has thought that people may like to take him AD.

its because they want him to be on the lower end of the damage spectrum for an assassin, AP itemization is easier to control the power curves of (by keeping his ratios low) if he could do say yasuo or zed levels of damage on top of having so much CC, he'd be a bit absurd

Oh.. that makes sense. I dont want another Yasuo

I think he will be decent with either, and be good as a bruiser or an assassin. I have a feeling he will be very versatile.

I think with his kit and passive, I'd rather build AD and AS. I mean, I could hit them three times within two seconds, catch up and slow them down, do it again, and so on and so forth. ... Unless it can only happen once in awhile. That would suck, but I think it showed that in the video... either way, his kit is very utility and I think he would be fine as either an AP build, AD build, or even tanky build(though he has nothing to scale off of, his CC is good in team fights and skirmishes).

Here is a lesson in which you had no control of a situation and made assumptions about it. Do you feel stupid?
