What's with these Master Yi "buufs"
- Alpha Strike (Q) Mana cost lowered from 70 - 110 to 70 - 90 (NICE)
- Meditate (W) Cooldown lowered from 35 to 25 Healing per sec 30-110 to 20-80 [Removed] No longer amplifies healing based on missing health [New] If full channel succeeds (4 sec) then 3 next attacks restore 30 - 50 (+20% bonus AD) health and reduce the remaining cooldown of his other abilites by 1 second.
So at first I was really exceited about Yi changes, but after seeing the Meditate(W) changes I got worried about the direction they are going with.
The base cooldown decrease seems pretty nice, but considering the MASSIVE healing reduction it would get in return it just doesn't seem worth it, not only is the base numbers lower but he is also loosing the missing health increase which means a 1%HP Yi is losing MORE THAN HALF base healing on this skill.
Aditionally the power shifting you are doing definitly doesn't seem to be well directed either; removing healing from channel and placing it on auto-attacks is a big mistake, ALL of Yi's power is already tied to autoattacking, this will make him even MORE binary.
The real reason he is struggling in this meta is because highlander kept getting relatively weaker due to the introduction of new gameplay elements such as
or the increase in usage of
all of which consume the it's duration making it harder for yi to stick to targets
and autoattack realliably.
The Q changes are apreciated.
If I were to suggest changes to Yi I would probably suggest somethink on the lines of:
-
Making Q recastable so that you can choose between quickly blink to the first target while giving up the extra bounces and extended untargetability for a quick assassination, OR choose not to recast and the animation would go on to bounce the remaining targets and extending his intargetability for the extra 0,75 seconds (like the live version). This change would make Yi less predictable in a teamfight or around minions while also adding room for mistake if you recast it beforehand (sometimes the lenghtier untargetability comes in handy) and would fit to his reflex driven gameplay.
-
Reduce the Meditate cooldown (for example to 25 seconds like you are planning too) while reducing the healing (also like you are planning too) BUT without removing the increased healing based on missing HP and INCREASING the damage reduction so that it provides the same level of tankiness as Live . This change would allow Yi to have a much needed cooldown decrease on W while preserving the high gameplay impact the ability currently provides, without making W maxing Lane Master Yi a thing because the overall sustain would be lower. (This change does the problem of making Yi weaker vs true damage and healing reduction like
tough) -
Lastly just increasing the potency of highlander. This one is pretty much just a straight buff, but there are actually 2 ways to go on this one. Either increase the mov speed a bit since everyone nowadays can outrun highlander or just increase its duration a bit, since everyone nowadays untargetability. Whatever sounds more fair.
That is all
: Let the passive double strike's mini auto-attack apply the Guinsoo's rage effect like a normal AA. Let Meditate pause the timer on Guinsoo's rage.
