Dps mages bot lane

Tbh i am, and i am sure most of us are fed up of seeing MARKSMEN every single game. Where is the diversity? What's the use of having 130+ champs? That's also why i love playing Morgana, lux and sometimes velkoz support from time to time. It makes you want to play and you actually enjoy playing and are less likely to tilt. The other game i was soraka and my adc was auto-filled. I have not been more tilted than i had been in that game for a long time. I'm just tired of playing ardent supports.

The support role is fine and most actually call them brain dead and overpowered. They can call it what they want, but the role has become more popular and even contested at times. At least i can play many different supports from thresh to soraka to lux to alistar. With Marksmen its all the same right-click champs. Why can't we have Azir or cass etc at bot? I swear i have tried azir bot and it actually works. The shuffle when your jungler ganks can be Lethal! Even ziggs was played bot and it actually worked, although mostly it was to get the first turret.

I for once welcome yasuo or darius ADC whilst i am the supp. It just brings a change and it makes me want to play. Maybe in ranked you'll follow meta but people even B**ch about it in Normal. Riot releases patches every 2 weeks, so the game doesn't become stale but i think the game is way too stale as it is. It clearly needs diversity, like many have said that it had in older seasons. The same can be said about jungle meta and top. The point is that you should be able to play off-meta without the game being auto-lose for you. I think riot has done a well done job for supports, maybe ardent supports are strong but that's also because of adc's complimenting with it way too good but otherwise non-ardent supports also work great.

The issue with DPS mages bot lane is that mages in general are not suited to share XP, given how much power they get from ranking their abilities (or even from direct leveling).

Azir : All three basic abilities have scaling cooldowns. Sand soldier damage non-linearily scales with XP, getting higher increases at later levels. Patch 7.18 gave rank 3 ult a superhigh damage increase. Cassiopeia : Passive MS and Twin Fang damage and heal scale with levels. Karthus : Defile has high leveling incentives. Lay Waste's damage to single targets also scales rather well with rank (and comparatively less with XP). Ryze : Unlocking his damage potential requires maxing 2 spells. And even his third spell gets a lot more effective with levels.

Of those 4, Karthus would be the easiest to balance as a bot lane mage: Slash a bit of base damage from Lay Waste, Defile and Requiem and pump the power into the AP ratio (for instance, have Requiem gain only 100 extra damage per rank and give it +0.2 AP).

in addition to the fact that mage enchanting items and champions practically dont exist

so you're going to have a hard time finding a support unless its some super aggressor like zyra or brand

Na, not really for items. Save for item 3504 and item 3050 , the support items work equally well for mages:

  • item 3109 : Heals for 12% of damage dealt to champions by the linked ally. Damage source and damage type don't matter.
  • item 3401 item 3190 : Shield is equal opportunity.
  • item 3222 : CC cleanse also helps mages. Arguably helps them even more, given that silences are more prolific than blinds...
  • item 3107 : Heal is also equal opportunity.
  • item 3001 : More of a tank item, but also an itemization option for support tanks.

Still, it is true that there is space for a more caster-specific support item and a few mage-synergizing support kits (for instance, Nami's E could also work with single-target spells...).

Hmmm, i still think protective items like locket and face of mountain help draintanking champions more as they pump out constant damage no matter what where as mages are limited to zones and cooldown

You've heard of protect the Kog, Twitch and so on comps, but never protection around the mages exclusively

I don't think these DPS mages need to be changed so that they can work at bot but then lose their power at mid. I have only tried azir and tbh he is very weak early game. He poses no greater threat than any other adc would do, maybe he pokes better than most but tbh its not worth much until he gets higher level and some items. Late game adc's will become lifestealing monsters anyway which azir just can't do so even if DPS mages have oppressive laning phase, it shouldn't change the fact adc's excel at sustain DPS whilst DPS mages have stronger burst and better early game. As it is, adc's with static shiv and rapidfire are bursting squishes anyway with having insane attack speed and sustain. AD items just offer way too much versatility than AP items and you can see that from Nashoor passive on-hit not working with azir and he still buys it because its the only item that gives lots of AP and AS together. Hell, some even buy more than 1 Nashoor on azir.

Last game as a brand supp i completely dominated a blitz and a alistar support in another game. I have been rofl stomped by both these every single time i go enchanters so it was good to know that as a support i have diversity but when it comes to adc, none exists.
