Why is it so hard for so many of you to accept shields are broken?

I'm generally curious because we exist in a meta that can be summarized as just pop every shield on the ADC and hope for the best

Shields sux mid-late game when Items do excessive damage and shields blocks only small percentage of it. Basically shields are only good early-mid game option. So it's balanced if played correctly and aimed for late game performance.

nah....i've seen it too much where scaling shields make the difference in the game. how many times have you seen a yasuo and whoever orianna is supporting survive a winning team fight with a sliver of health? the shields aren't the problem though...they are a necessary evil in the terrible terrible damage meta we have now. It used to take longer to win team fights instead of the stupid 2 second burst everyone down teamfights we have now and towers used to be able to hold up past....say...level 2....
