How come Ekko's ultimate can stop Vi/Zed/Naut ultimates?

Just a question. I just watched a video on his ultimate capabilities and this is one of them? I may not have mentioned all the ultimates/abilities he can cancel. I am just now realizing that he can actually do this, but why is it there? His ultimate seems overloaded already.

Because he becomes untargetable. Whether or not that's a good design choice is up to you, but that's why.

He can cancel any targeted spell that has to fly towards him, even caitlyn's ult.

So can Fizz, Elise, and vladimir, and they can do it much more frequently.

Zed's, lissandra, shaco can also dodge those things.

Anyone with zhonyas.
