Champion skill vs. Damage

Why is it that a lot of champions that SHOULD take a lot of skill are just unbelievably easy because of their completely absurd damage? Seriously, some champions in this game would be fun as hell to play with/against if they just didn't 1 shot you and actually had to make use of their full kit to kill you like most champs.

Look at the below Fizz Zed Riven LeeSin LeblancKatarina Yasuo IMO: All of these champs would actually take a SHIT TON of skill to play if they just didn't one hit you doing anything. And Riot, you've done this before Khazix You nerfed the shit out of his damage and now Kha players have to actually think about what they're doing instead of just bhop around the team getting pentas An excellent role model for this situation is him and Azir For both, you actually have to work for what damage you do instead of picking the champ then going into a coma

champions who have alot of mobility are considered "hard to play" because you have to press a few more buttons but that is actually not what makes a champion hard except if you are physically handycapped. mobility gives you more options in combat situations so it actually makes champions easier.

the hardest to play champions are usually the ones who have the least mobility and cc. for example, garen is really hard to play because he has nothing to make up for mistakes. if you make a mistake with garen, you will get punished for it with certainty. also, all of garens moves are alot easier to predict since he has less options (less mobility, no cc) so he also has less comeback potential than a fizz who can long-range engage on someone who is out of position to shut him down.

the champions you listed are not actually stronger than immobile champions. mostly, they are even weaker. but they are easier to play. you can basically never create a champion with alot of mobility and make him hard to play at the same time except if every choice they make requires a tradeoff.

last but not least: azir and leblanc are both very hard to play for the same reason. even tho both of them have decent mobility and cc, they both actually have to sacrifice their damage to use their mobility for anything else than direct engage. if azir wants to dodge anything with his mobility or disengage, he he has to reposition his soldiers into a defensive stance which sacrifices his damage output. same with leblanc, her main damage tool is her mobility which you have to sacrifice in order to escape or you have to sacrifice your mobility in order to deal damage. that balance makes them hard to play even tho they have alot of options.

every option always requires a tradeoff for them so if you make a mistake, you get punished just as hard as garen. the only difference between these two champions is that leblanc is weak while azir is really strong.

OK.

First up:

Leblanc You gotta actually choose a skill to mimic. Unfortunately, the low CD on her ult means she gets an extra jump after her W. So just increase the CD on her ult.

Next:

Katarina Rito already nerfed the hell out of this champion. She can't oneshot you. Period. Unless she's both super fed and you have no CC to cancel her ult, AND no dashes to escape it. Which isn't a thing, because we all know League of Legends is now League of Mobility. The only champion she can reliably oneshot WHILE FED is Kog'Maw. Well, there's a few other's with no mobility or CC, but only a few.

Then:

Zed You're actually kinda right - get in range to press R, and your target's basically dead unless either you suck and are feeding, or they kill you first. It's almost impossible to dodge this guys W+Q poke, because if he throws his shadow on you how the fk are you gonna dodge anything? Any misses here are completely human error - the player is given everything he needs to ensure the hit if he just clicks on the opponent.

Fizz Punish him early, dodge his E. Beware of his Sheen powerspike, it's huge. He's basically the mage version of feast or famine. But honestly, feast and famine is pretty toxic itself.

LeeSin Too much early damage, doesn't fall off hard enough late game with a point and click 650 damage. It's like Cho's ult, but Cho is slow and immobile.

Yasuo No. I agree his item 3087 powerspike is HUGE for an item that costs 2600 gold, and his random crits will singlehandedly win his lane if the RNGods are against you, but after seeing this guy lose so much you really don't have an argument here.

Kha'Zix's damage is definitely not nerfed if you know what you're doing. he bursts harder with evolved Q than he ever did with his old evolved Q. he has a 260% bonus AD ratio on it plus a 401 base damage, that's not nerfed at all.

Well none of the above require skill, but they all need mastering with is harder. Btw no matter how fed yasuo is he wont "1 shot you". The rest probably will tho.
