I Would Like More Champions With "Out of the Box" Play Styles

See Singed and Ivern . They both play in ways that are drastically different than other champions in their respective roles. Singed is the only champion that proxy farms enemies effectively and Ivern is the only champion that "incubates" (so to speak) camps for later pick-up, allowing him to wander the jungle much more and counter jungle very efficiently. We have TONS of champions that do the same style of play, but in different flavors. If the normal way to play League is ice cream, Singed is a taco. And Ivern is a salad. You can play League in a ton of different ice cream flavors, but champions like Singed and Ivern completely upset the normal ways of play. These are the only champions I've seen so far that really push boundaries in the game without breaking it apart. Sure, they can both be annoying, but they aren't nearly as annoying as SEVERAL of the NORMAL champions in the game. In fact, I think playing as, with, and against them offers a fresh experience that interrupts the normally repetitive nature of the game. I want more champions that succeed in different ways than a normal champion would, even if it means not playing by the normal formula. What do you guys think? I feel like we could really use more champions like this. As long as they are all balanced carefully, I think they would be a joy to have around. Sometimes I get bored of the normal ways of play, and pick up Singed and sometimes even Ivern to mix it up. I just wish there were more ways of mixing things up. And no, I don't mean reworking current champions into some abomination like Bot Lane Mordekaiser. Not that! I mean new champions that are nice and fresh!

Because we need more mini-game mechanics and annoying kits.

I'd rather every champ be overloaded than no champ overloaded. I'd also rather have every champ have a gimmic as opposed to none. It helps with defining their identity and niche.

Unique niche is fine until they go Shyvana on them making it where she pretty much doesn't even have a passive anymore or Skarner and his crystal spires that are tying down the rest of his kit's power and stats to almost unplayable levels without them.

U do know Skarner can be played pretty much just as well without the spires.. They really only grant Vision, movespeed while on/near them and bonus attack speed (which he also gets if he stuns any other champ even if he's away from the spires) and mana regen

U do know Skarner's attack speed, mana regen, and movement speed all suffered because of the spires holding those stats right? It was for balancing because he was broken on release so they had to re-adjust doing this to him. I mained Skarner pre-juggernaut rework (and the rework before that) so trust me when I say Skarner without the spires is a lot worse off compared to pre-rework Skarner.

I think that when a designer has a good idea that fits the game, they include it. Whether or not it's in the box is another issue entirely. I don't think they go out of their way to make out of the box champs.

For what it's worth, I agree that many of them can be real fun. I don't want them to overdo it, though, and I definitely think you can.
