Ekko has never been most viable in the role he was designed for.

He was always a higher w/r jungler or top laner.

Can we reduce his base damage and increase his ap scaling? please?.

This isn't new. A good third of champions ended up being completely different things than what Riot designed them to be.

TF was an ADC Zyra was a Mid Blitz was a Top laner Vi was a top laner Morg was a Mid

It goes on really.

Supports are the only thing they seem to have gotten down pat and that is because they resort to straight removing/not giving them damaging spells now.

The problem with ekko is that we keep reducing his damage then expecting him to even attempt to go mid. When your QW and R are that easy to dodge why would you even bother laning? Then on top of that if you manage to hit everything it wont do any real damage. Like come on people you cant seriously think that nerfing his damage more will make him build squishy. We need to be nerfing these busted ass tank items. That's the real problem. His base damage is already pretty low.

His damage isn't reliable enough for being a midlaner.

His main skill in lane, Q, has most of its damage on the return, which isn't going to hit anyone most of the time in the lane phase unless you go ham.

It wouldn't help him become a better mid.

He sucks at trading as an assassin and he can't reliably hit 3/4 of his kit. He doesn't bring anything to the game when he is squishy aside from difficult gameplay with lacking reward.

Or, we could just reduce his base damage because his scalings are already stupidly high, and he has every kind of tool in his kit a champion could every hope for.

Ekko is way too strong and his kit is fundamentally toxic, he needs nerfs without compensation.

reduceing his ratios and upping his sclaeings will change shit. he already is snowball dependent if built AP. The issue is that the way his kit works, he either needs to be fed enough to kinda oneshot peps with e+q, or he needs to be somewhat tanky to survive long enough, as his dmaage pattern needs alot longer than that of other assasins, and his burst is lower.

The main reason tank ekko is a thing also isn#t his damage, his damage actually is rather low unless ahead. It's the utillity, a potential 2.25 sec stun on a big aoe and tons of slows on top of great mobillity. He simply is great at keeping people in range for his team. Tank ekko will always be more viable tha ap ekko unless ap ekko develops some toxic 100-0 burst patterns or unless his utillity gets reduced. His W for example could easily loose the slow and get the stun duration reduced to 1.5sec without hurting ap-ekko to much. As compensation the shieldduration could get increased to 3 sec, as the shield has really pitifull base values but a huge scaleing so that would mostly help ap-ekko to not die instantly, even if he misses the stun. The passive or Q could also loose a bit slowing power in favor of more mobillity, so it beceomes more about ekko outplaying you rather than keeping you in place till his friends arive.
