What rank does yi's usefulness fall off

Yi is a champion that makes people in low elo want to fucking kill themselves. He just needs to get to you and rightick and he gets a kill in a teamfight and the you is good mechanically even though all he does is rightick, good luck stunning him because he'll just q every skillshot and he will get a pentakill. That is until you get to high elo. At that point, everyone knows how to beat yi. They'll go Jax, xin zhao, or Warwick and stun u the moment you reappear from your q or just straight up fight you and kill you if they picked one of those 3. What o does your stop being useful to where you actually have to play something like Elise or lee sin.

Honestly you can play him all the way up to diamond maybe even masters. The only problem with master Yi has nothing to do with his toolkit, he is a amazing tank shredder, he murders adcs with ease, the only problem is in high elo, junglers are expected to have utility. Think of league of legends like a raid comp, and in the raid comp this is what high elo players expect from comps.

Top:Team Tank 15 percent of your teams damage Jungler: Team Utility 15 percent of your teams damage Mid laner: team black mage 35 percent of your damage ADC: Ranged DPS 35 percent of your damage Support: Team white mage 0 percent of your teams damage

However occasionally this happens

Top: Team Melee DPS ^ the moment this happens the jungler is expected AND MUST take the position of team tank, other wise in high elo you will lose simply because your Comp is bad. So to have a yi on your team you would need something like this in high elo, for this is how much attention Yi Demands.

An entire comp just had to be modified Forcing all four players onto the yis team on very supportive champions even the adc is a supportive champion to make up for the lack of CC. As someone of lower skill, I just learned something from you guys that I didn't ever see adequately explained in any guide

I understood generally team comp, simple crap

It doesn't. It's about enemy team comp, not enemy rank.

You can probably be quite successful with him up until low/mid plat. Higher gold might be when you start noticing things get harder

Because it still amounts to player skill. A VERY well timed Q can dodge the Elise stun, the Lee Sin 2nd Q or any CC put on him. Around Diamond ELO is when his usefully starts to fade.

Yi falls off the moment people start learning how to chain CC and routinely jungle invade with the help of laners.

That can be in any rank from bronze to challenger.

Yeah, Yi needs to be reworked so that he isn't so easy to win with in lower levels and easy to beat in higher levels. More depth of skill expression and less ball-of-stats power would be a good direction to take him.

Yi is easy to win with in low elo because people shove without warding more, flash after Yi Qs them, 1v1 Yi when they have no chance of winning, splitpush as adc. That's my opinion anyway.

around gold it becomes very difficult to win with yi unless you one trick him. you can climb with any champ to diamond if you're good enough with them but realistically. yeah gold plat/5 is where its difficut to win with yi even if you farm well and not fall behind because your lanes are going to get ganked. you will provide no pressure and you will get cced in team fights.
