SANDLUST: Azir's Sand Soldiers now work with Sated Devourer

Drunken Yasuo··18 votes·7,683 views

does that mean:

His sand soldiers attacks dont proc the 30+stacks magic damage on hit but with sated devourer the 2nd attack of the sand soldier deals double damage? because the sand soldier attacks cant proc on hits like nashors tooth.

do i smell smite azir mid?

nope it isnt. just looked it up

I mean, if it only applies on hit, its probably not even that good. First I thought it like doubles every soliders dmg lol.

It's not, Riot made it so that you onlt take the damage from 1 soldier even if hit by all 3. So the damage will only proc once

Nightshade173 votes

That's for the Q specifically, not his soldier's autos

It's 25% damage per additional soldier on the autos.

Wrong. They made it so they will only take damage from one soldier when they are dashing with Conquering Sands. On-hits still apply for all 3 soldiers. I think they are reduced to that 25% damage after the first soldier, though.

The sated devourer phantom attack is treated as an additional soldier would be. It deals 25% of a normal soldiers attack since there is already one soldier dealing normal damage. Essentially what this means is that on Sated Devourer attacks (every other hit), Azir has 25% bonus damage with one soldier, 75% bonus damage with two soldiers, and 125% bonus damage with three soldiers.

Just like Sated Devourer Vayne though, the chances of this succeeding are very low due to the farming requirement. Still pretty fun however.

The soldiers apply on spell hit, right? Rylai's slow for example. Devourer applies on hit and would be as usless as the proc on Nashor's Tooth?

Jungle Azir new meta?

IxtaliKing3 votes

They may as well rework him into a jungler, maybe that would allow him to have a more interesting kit than just being a boring poke machine :/

They already Nerfed (near deleted) Bruiser Azir in favor of Q poke.

You know. The build that actually used his DPS in favor of the thing they called most problematic.

I still think if they revert all changes he has had and then lower the range he can command his soldiers at he would be healthier and more interesting to play as and against. I just hate that he has about the same range as lux/xerath despite not being described at release as a long range poke mage

Personally, I never cared for his flighty glass cannon build. But between the nerfed slow and knock-up removal, his bruiser build has no way of keeping people in soldier range.

don't do this to me riot.

Why was this even a priority to make his soldiers function with this anyway?

MCBiggah998 votes

Cause Azir jungle's a thing apparently.

when do thye plan on adding this? I CANT WAIT! i just dont understand hwo do u get stacks???

WarlockLaw1 votes

Considering the lack of devour in pro play I wouldn't be surprised if they end up buffing it before doing anything else. Then of course they are going to lower the base on-hit by 10 or 15 then increase the transform requirement by 20 or so then pretend it doesn't exist for a few months and try again (for the fourth time) to make a balanced farming jg item.

What the hell lol. XD Azir jungle new meta.

RottedApples1 votes

his soldiers are basically part of his aa. (I'm not sure if they are coded to be an auto attack modifier, they might be) So i guess this makes sense to some degree.

Ariel the Cruel4 votes

His soldiers are considered spells and replace his AA.

I can confirm that devourer is still basically useless. Once sated, every second attack is treated as if an extra soldier attacked (in other words, every devourer-image is going to deal 25% soldier damage), but since you gain none of the onhit damage from this or other on hit items, you are paying quite the premium amount of gold for an item that's literally just attack speed and cdr. Now, if azir soldiers could proc on-hits on the primary target... That would open up some very fascinating build options. but for the mean time, jungle azir brings nothing to the table since devourer still isnt worthwhile on him and he cant proc sheen-like jungle item with his soldier hits either.
