It's only bruiser mains complaining about Lux. Meanwhile, you continue to abuse Garen. :P

But that's none of my business.

Oh yes. Please downvote me. I know very well this forum is filled with Bruiser, ahem, Juggernaut mains and Assassin mains.

Mage and ADC players just bow our heads down and laugh at the insanity that is G&B. A mage or ADC is strong and G&B goes wild, when your precious juggernauts are buffed, we all know they're OP, but you guys prefer to just silently keep hush and make a bigger fuss about "OP LUX" and "OP VAYNE" to mask the real issue.

Lux main, clearly unbiased. Also bronze 3, thus showing an extreme understanding of this game.

Ah. The old rank argument when nothing else of value can be mentioned.

You don't need rank to notice trends and madness my dear. Now go get your bag of cheetos and circle jerk about your ranking with the rest of the fedora wearing neckbeards on GD.

Sorry, but it is a fact that bronze players (not smurfing) are not good at this game. Thus, your opinion is much less relevant than that of someone with a higher rank.

Game skill and execution are not a correlation or representation of game knowledge. Plenty of lower players have the knowledge but lack the ability. Thus, dismissing there opinions, especially when clearly thought out and noted, is the very definition of blissful ignorance. A wise man takes note of any and all opinions and uses the combined knowledge along with his own personal knowledge to come to a much more informed conclusion and as any ACTUAL good player will tell you, game knowledge alone doesn't make you a good player.

So, perhaps you should re-think your position and in-general how much of a dick you're being. Food for thought.

I'm not a Bruiser main, but I do scream "NONONONONONO!!!!" when I get bound and ulted by Lux. However I never actually openly COMPLAIN about the state of her balance. Her buffs have been pretty off my radar, because she's a pretty simple champ with a lot of opportunity to outplay.

Divewing31 votes

She was actually weak, if she'd been more widely played her win rate would reflect it, but all the Lux players really wanted were mana fixes, specifically in relation to E. Now with the new buff to Q, I don't think that can be done anymore. It's another case of Rito buffing/nerfing the wrong thing.

ModAcademy Kayn43 votes

They've stated before that they're not reducing the mana cost to her E. For what it gives, (Damage, Zoning, Slow,) it's mana cost is just.

Divewing32 votes

Then increase damage to minions. The only situation where Lux should be ulting a wave is for literal immediate waveclear. I don't see why Viktor can nearly 1 shot a whole wave while Lux is lucky to be able to 1 shot the casters

A Miss Fortune38 votes

To be fair, Lux has a 30 second cooldown on her ult.

Remlap122317 votes

At level 16, when you build max CDR.

SmokinSickStyle11 votes

Most people WILL build CDR.

Just buying morello + blue + mastery yields 35%

Add 5 from runes if you feel like it and you're done.

CDR is one of the most important stat on a caster.

If it wasn't important we'd just be stacking item 3027 .

Klavier2 votes

That's a really bad idea. She's a safe caster even without one shooting a wave with her e. And if they do so, she would be the new old ap Janna .

Verxint4 votes

That's more a problem that Viktor can clear waves faster for less mana while poking harder and absorbing damage better than anyone in the game.

The reason a bunch of mages are unpopular is Viktor...

It costs more mana than many ults.

It's also better than most basic abilities.

It's 130 mana. Now usually if you had such high costs on your basic abilities, you'd build tear, Lux takes way too long to stack and therefore really come online, so naturally you build mana regen, except at 130 a pop, you are literally better off ulting a minion wave as far as mana is concerned. I don't know if you are aware but she was played in one of the last games of the Korean regular summer split. They made her totally worthless by stealing blue buff. She couldn't wave clear sufficiently with E because it simply doesn't deal enough damage to the minions. Because of her mana issues, she was reduced to worthless, she got her full combo on 3 members, 1 of which was a squishy iirc, and it barely tickled them.

But by all means, claim she is better than LB and Ahri.

DogIsGod5 votes

Divewing27 votes

HOW DENSE CAN YOU BE I LITERALLY JUST TYPED A WHOLE PARAGRAPH EXPLAINING WHY THIS ABILITY IS A PROBLEM. She NEEDS TO USE E for wave clear, if it isn't E, it IS HER ULTIMATE.

Now I look and compare to Ahri which is what, 180 max for 2 Qs? Which basically clears a whole wave, LB has distortion for similar numbers, yet for Lux to use more than JUST ONE E, it costs 260 MANA, NEARLY 1.5x THE AMOUNT LB AND AHRI USE.

Also: "she's fine with mana, much better than Leblanc or Ahri" (so....you did say she was better >_>) There is no way around this at all, if you push Lux in, she literally OOMS HERSELF TRYING TO CLEAR WAVES. There is mana management, and there is "either buy tear, or get every blue buff in the game cause you sure as hell need it"

And finally "I played Lux just once". And you.... therefore know what you are talking about...?

Actually, Ahri's Q is on a pretty low cooldown (and low mana cost) when Morello is built, so using 2 Qs isn't at ridiculous as sitting there autoing all the minions. Or you could Q->W and get all but 1 minion. Ahri has far lower mana scaling than Lux, so that Q->W combo, assuming your Q is maxed, costs the same as one Lux E.

When you have Ahri and Viktor and LeBlanc able to destroy waves with just one or two cheap spells, Lux's E becomes a lot more needed and its mana cost becomes a lot more of a liability. Lux is supposed to be good late, but her E mana cost makes it hard to do anything well. Her ult is actually better to waveclear with because of its low cooldown (for an ult) and lower mana cost than her maxed E.

I'm comparing their waveclears to each other. It's a good way to directly compare champions with generally equal teamfight presence. Viktor has good teamfighting with his W->R->E combo, and has amazing waveclear from his E. Lux has good-ish teamfighting, but abysmal waveclear, since her E is at a really high mana cost. Stealing away her blue buff is pretty damn simple to do, and takes away most of her power. Having a midlaner with no waveclear really limits what you're able to do.

In any case, Lux's shield can only be able to be classified as best in the game if her entire team is completely lined up for her to shield. And even then, you're in a god damn straight line within 1100 units of each other. I think it's pretty easy to punish that. Her shield is weaker than every ally shielding spell in the game except Lee Sin's W and Thresh's lantern. And neither of those are really supposed to be for the shield. It lasts for less time than most shields as well. Hell, Orianna's Command:Protect shields for more and for longer than Lux's shield, and Ori has better teamfighting and waveclear.

And where are you finding this data? I have no idea how Lux's shield can be better than, say, Orianna, without factoring in the ability to shield multiple allies. Okay, maybe it can shield somebody twice, but that has to have some seriously exact timing to give a good reshield.

Not really

This entire paragraph. Seriously, whenever I see someone complain that her shield is the "best" shield in the game I feel my IQ drop. It's pathetic really, and most of the time your team is too preoccupied with the enemy to to move into it when you throw it. There are much better shield out there, Karma for example.

TurquoiseYoshi3 votes

Numerically, Orianna's shield is better and can troll the hell out of the enemy team with ball delivery. Many other shields have bonus effects like that, alongside higher base shield values and better scaling.

Axis the Dragon2 votes

With 40% CDR, Karma's ult is 21 seconds CD, granting her target a 410 (+80% AP) shield, with 205 (+40% AP) to the rest of the team + a huge MS boost a la Sivir ult

Potentially, we're looking at 1230 Health shield, scaling notwithstanding. The speed boost is 60%, same as Sivir (albeit with like 1/5th of the duration).

Lux gives only 180 (+ 35% AP), but on a 6 second cooldown. And it refreshes, bumping the maximum possible is 360 (+70% AP), which is a decent amount - assuming the people you're trying to shield haven't died before the refresh. xD

I think there are tradeoffs to both shields. In a single cast, Karma's is definitely better, but in any extended skirmish or teamfight, Lux is (potentially) better.

Idk, man. Just throwing out my 2 cents.

If you can't manage your mana as a midlaner than why the fuck are you playing the role?

Zed, Yasuo, Akali, Katarina, Kennen, Lee Sin, etc. Mid lane doesn't require you to be able to manage mana. If you're going to say such a thing, you should say, "if you can't manage your mana as Lux, why are you playing her?"

Yep. Like the incoming mana cost reduction to Morg's Q. It doesn't solve her weak early game problems they caused with the nerfs a few months ago at all and just makes her Q spam more annoying and frequent.

she didnt need this buff thats for sure. she was pretty strong before the buffs imo

Friendly reminder that Morde doesn't have a 55% winrate like you said.

He has 65% winrate when ADCing in plat+.

He's MORE broken than release Xin Zhao, where is the Morde QQ in the boards goddammit?.

EasterGoose10 votes

That reddit thread was incredibly misleading. Champion.gg (the site they got the number from) actually "threw out" roughly 40% of Morde ADC games because they didn't fit the usual build path. The majority of these games were losses and put Morde at a sub-55% winrate.

Hi, I mainly play Lux. Have been since Season 2, I think.

After the recent meta shift towards tanks, Lux was in a weaker spot. Mid champs outscaled faster, or were safe picks against her. JG, Top, and sometimes Supps, were really tanky, and if you didn't snowball, it'd be difficult to put meaningful damage onto their team. She became more of a "I need to win hard to not fall behind" kind of champion. The buffs came a bit late, imo, since the tank meta just left for juggernauts, though. But it IS helpful since strong bruisers are in.

Her E has never been a problem to me. Yeah it's costly, but I'm able to manage my mana just fine. Tear or Chalice stop me from ever running OOM unless I'm spamming, which is only when I seige or a teamfight is happening.

I'm a big fan of item 3504 on Sona, just pop your W while your allies are in range during a turret attack and it greatly improves destruction.

or both adcs will just be farming, Sona tries to run up and fight the enemies 2v1 and dies, yelling at you about how its your fault for playing passive. Because yes, its totally my fault you went full moron and tried to take them both on as one of the squishiest champions in the game. Not even poking, full on engaging w/out ult

I just don't like aggressive supports, as I never know if I should drop everything and start attacking this person or if I should just keep farming.
