Well at least
can be justified, since she doesn't have a passive until Lv 9
Doesn't get true damage until an ally dies
Edit: And has to to be level 6

Late game it's enough for a target to miss 1000 health and it deals around 1000 true dmg
To be fair though, Cho'gath ult had higher base damage and .7 ap scaling rather than scaling based on missing health, so it'll do more damage consistently at a faster pace than Garen's...without being limited to a specific enemy team member.

Don't forget the aoe silence aoe knock up and sustain

Except you can buff her in a thousand ways using something that isn't supposed to be a rare, unique mechanic. Does she really even need it? I played her one time in the last year and it was the easiest mid game I've ever had, she's pretty damn strong as it is and I don't even know how to play her.

last year. Do u know how hard she was nerfed in one year?
She only received 20 less base damage on her Q...
That in addition to Deathfire being removed, were her only hard nerfs.
But now she gets 35 + 9% AP True damage starting at lvl 9.
She received various bugfix nerfs on her stun as well making it unreliable and/or just smaller.
Also, 20 damage less on the main skill is a little bit huge on a Mage whose AA's almost do more damage than a starting Sphere.

She always had this damage. It's just true damage now. It means it will not be noticeable against squishies. Stop acting like they added 35 + %9 damage more. Even with 1000 AP, it's 125 true damage. Against a champion who has %50 magic reduction, this bonus is 62.25 damage. She always had this damage.
You are literally fighting for the exact same point I am trying to make.
Baked Lotion commented that she was heavily nerfed. I commented that she barely was and is pretty much the same. You argued that I make her sound more powerful than she is. Are you saying that she is weaker because of this? Because otherwise, we're trying to reach the same point.

It didn't look like this, then sorry.
"I played her one time in the last year..."
Yeah, pretty sure almost EVERYONE stopped caring about your opinion right about there.

And her power is limitless soooooooooooooo :P
"We want true damage to be a rare thing."
Or was that just "HP% true damage"?
It was %health true damage. Only Garen (against his rival), Fiora, and Vayne have it.
True damage is countered by HP stacking, so it isn't as bad for tanks as some seem to think.

Inb4
And Garen to a much much much smaller extent (garen is not OP by any means, I still hold that his crappy ass is UP).
1: That was 8 months ago. 2: That's exactly what I said. True damage is countered by HP stacking, but %max HP true damage, existent on 3 champions and common on 2, is uncounterable by items. That's why it's rare.
And soon any amumu who builds liandries.

-rare-
Gnar has no true damage, his W procs magical damage.
You forgot a few
Soraka deals true damage.....to herself....
I am ok with Syndra's true damage. It's 15% bonus damage, not 15% of their total health.
I don't like the new tank buster meta that's gonna be happening soon.
I already hate playing vs. the new Fiora.
pssssst
you forgot
syndra is pretty bad right now tbh lol i like her but she needs some buffs
Syndra's Q bonus damage from her passive should have been true damage on release, and I am not sure why it wasn't.
Syndra still need her Q to not suck before she is level 5 in order to be a viable mid lane mage.
Literally everyone.

Enjoy
while you still can. It's the only armor item left in the game.
shhhh shut up before riot notices the
is still intact
should let you choose which patch you play on...
randuins is situationally better vs ADCs (late game) now though, if you take around 3 crits from an ADC in a fight, you block more (post mitigation) damage than the 100HP of stats that was removed
"Situationally" meaning "against Ashe". It's not Season 2 anymore. And you're also forgetting about the armor. You don't really see crit chances over 50% that often lately, and 0-10% is completely viable on many (10% from Trinity Force).
Ah-ha-ha-ha! I didn';t even think of that. Ashe doesn't actually crit. She just does more damage based on crit chance. So Randuin's useless vs her other than as a stat stick.
The wiki claims that they count as crits, all of them. I just checked. I think if you attack before applying Frost with a skill, though, this one attack can't crit, because the target isn't frosted yet.
Fiora? You mean the chick that's at a 42% winrate? AIght, man.
I will say though, I expect it to climb after her recent buff.

It climbed from 38 to 42 lulz.

I mean, I wasn't wrong.
bend over you fuking tanks
psst. My skill shot does true damage. lol
Everybody ignoring Syndra's E massive buff when maxed.
going from 50% to 100% is a huge range increase
Width, not range. Just makes it easier to land when someone is on top of you or when people are coming at you from multiple flanks.
Syndra need the buffs. And still needs some. Brand is super strong after the AP item updates and is a very high counter to the infamous Viktor.
There was once a time when having a true damage was unique
.
Now Yi is a shadow of everyone else with True Damage.
Yi got his tru dmg from
TRUE DAMAGE TRUE DAMAGE FOR EVERYBODAYYY!!!!!
Let's buff this chick but leave Brand in the dust...
True damage on Brand's passive? :D
...
omg that would be so OP XD
I saw someone that claimed his passive used to proc on aa's. Dunno how true it is though.
It's half true, he was never released that way, but pre-release, his autos did in fact proc his passive. They wisely realized that was fucking stupid, and removed it, but that's why Brand has one of the best auto attack animations of the old mages.
Let's buff this chick but leave Brand in the dust...
brand is op with the AP rework... hush
