Do people care about shen?

So recently shen has been getting alot of attention in terms of wether he needs a rework and if he should be changed to an assassin/tank but one of the things people fear of is gutting what makes shen...well um shen :D now its obvious people like shen since he is quite an old cemented character but i was just curious if those same people would/wouldnt mind them changing him drastically in some areas tell me what you amazing people think of

my opinion if anyone cares i would like for them to make him a more mobile tank but without the problems of a certain champion COUGH and if they gave him a vu i would like them to make him use his fist and only use his swords in terms of his skills/passive which in my opinion would further imply him being a beefy ninja

Indeed, Shen is a ninja. His figure, his lack of armor, and everything else denote him as not being a tank, I don't understand why he should be a tank, and his ability scalings are all pretty bad. His ultimate is interesting, certainly, but that's the only interesting thing about him.

I almost thought it had something to do with his lore How you know, Zed's killing everyone he knows n loves and Shens doing his best to protect everyone he knows and loves which is why shen ult countering zed ult is so fking beautiful and idk, I guess his role originally was to "protect".. and what better role fits that, than a tank

attack speed health and has played him very very wrong

only thing ap does is making him have buffer sheilds which isnt really all that worth it

Acording the Shen's lore, he was trained to "ignore most pain". Kinda how he can get away with little armor.

I personally feel he needs to be properly shifted back into being a support tank (what he was before his S2 rework). Even since then he's been this Tanky-dps-support-thing. Don't get me wrong, I still love him and do well with him, but the dissonance between the role Riot tried to put him in and the kit they tried to let him keep hampers his effectivity in both roles.

Hmmm this is very interesting so correct me if im wrong but do you mean make him more in line with our tanky supports like leo/braum or do you mean a tank who helps the team Nautilus/ramms

Support tank like Ali. I will always push for the game to move back towards its origins, and Ali is the closest corollary that still exists to what Shen was back then.

I think Shen is awesome as is, even if his archetype is ironic and makes no faithful sense to a ninja. His energy buff was much needed and has made him more fun to play without making him ridiculous. Thank you Rito.

IMO, they need to gut Lee Sin so he doesn't fit the whole "does everything with power" thing. He's not healthy for the game and it's obvious that his current state is causing other champions to be overlooked AGAIN.

how would you feel if they did make shen a bit more similar to lee sin i know many people which to cut lee's power which deserves to be cut but would you think making shen another mobile tank keep the playing field a bit more equal or do you think getting rid of the one (lee) be better option really interested in what you think. Also do you think he might need more than just the energy buff

We care about Shen, but rito doesn'T since he isn't a "muh lcs playz" champion.

It's funny you say that because people used to always say that Shen was only allowed to be OP because his ult was pretty much the biggest play in the game. I think he fits the "lcs playz" circlejerk better than a few strong champions right now.

You answered your own question.

He used to be. But since then flashy mushy "muh lcs" champs appeared who makes a light more than he does.

I had a thought on a ninja tank, what do you guys think of this?

Passive: Feint/Ghost Walk

Shen takes X% reduced damage from basic attacks and Y% reduced damage from AoE spells.

After Shen takes damage from 10 such attacks, he goes invisible for 2 seconds, and gains 50% movement speed and the ability to move through units. The next attack Shen makes after exiting stealth hits all targets around him and restores 30 energy. Shen does not gain stacks of this passive for 5 seconds after exiting stealth.

Basically, what Im picturing here is Shen doing his job as a tank and getting into the fight, then disappearing after he takes focus for a while, to re-position and start it up again. He gets in your face as a tank and draws aggro "GET HIM!!!" then is suddenly gone... or behind you... "WHERE ARE YOU!?" "... here... "

Then just make his W Ki-Strike, which would give him an auto attack reset. Add a slow to the strike, and we have some extra cc for priority targets.

Then add a passive onto his Ultimate that says qualifying attacks vs the target of your shield count for stacks on your passive. Then there is that fun chance that Shen might show up invisible. :)

i'd like to see him keep his ult, and his manaless nature, but i think his qwe need the rework mostly. hopefully adding a stealth or some cc to replace/supplement his taunt.
