Morde stats are out. Conclusions

_General Recommended Items updated Base Stats (Nerf) MS 340 >>> 330 (Nerf) HP 555 >>> 525 (Buff) HP/lvl 73 >>> 80 (Buff) AD/lvl 3.5 >>> 5 (Buff) AS/lvl 2.6 >>> 3 (Nerf) HP5 3.3 >>> 4 (Buff) HP5/lvl 0.3 >>> 0.55 (Buff) Range 125 >>> 200 Attack frame improved Armor/lvl 2.7 >>> 3.0 Attack Range 125 >>> 175 Attack Frame improved, but no longer scales as well with Attack Speed (Attack Frame should feel more consistent across game time) Passive: Shield decay per second now 2% of base hp (up from 3% max shield) Shield no longer decays below 25% Max shield from per level to 25% of max HP Shield generation is now 25% of damage dealt, from 35% Q: Now buffs Mordekaisers next 3 attacks. Each does 3x the last (e.g., if the first hit deals 100 damage, the third deals 900). W: Reworked New passive: Mordekaiser receives full experience from any lane minion he kills New active -- Harvesters of Sorrow: Mordekaiser and target ally champion gain 75 MS while moving toward one another. When close to one another, both deal magic damage to nearby enemies over 4 seconds. Ability can be reactivated to instantly deal ~40% of the total DoT and heal Mordekaiser and his ally for the damage dealt (heal takes 3 units maximum; 33% heal to minions) Health cost removed. E: Base damage reduced from 70/115/160/205/250 >>> 35/65/95/125/155 Now also scales with 0.6 total AD Cooldown from 6 >>>> 6/5.75/5.5/5.25/5 Now grants 15% of maximum shield on champion hits R: Added: Passive -- Dragon Force: Dealing damage to the Dragon curses it. If Mordekaiser’s team kills a cursed target, Mordekaiser gets a ghost of that target. Planned: Ghost scaling cleaned up [This is not yet on PBE]" _

The most important things:

  • Even slower. Impossible to catch anybody.
  • Less Hp
  • Much less shield generation.
  • E will only be now used to generate shield hitting a champion and getting 15%. Not even for the damage.
  • Q apparently will be the skill to max first with an scaling 1x 3x and 9x damage combo that will probably be impossible to land with such MS and against any kind of cc.
  • As we knew, W is now absolutely trash unless you play bot lane or the jungler happens to visit your lane. But hey, it heals (if it deals damage if you are with your mommy, of course)

AD Scaling on his fucking E. Q no longer does AoE. MS nerf. Less HP. And they want people to max Q. And dear lord that trash W.

I'm done.

I will point out that the AD scaling on his E is in addition to the AP scaling (Note the word 'also'). Combined with the Q change it looks like Morde is meant to be a hybrid AD/AP.

I looked at this and saw some things I want to address. Not this post I quoted, but the big change.

Lowering his health is pretty bad. His W is iffy. Will have to test it out for myself (on my way to do so right now). His Q would be stupid if it did AoE damage however with that. To those that don't know, his Q has a 20% AP Ratio. So the first hit deals 20%, then 60%, then 180%. That is one of the largest total AP Ratios in the game on an ability with a 4 second cool down on Rank 5. Mordekaiser becomes a lot better at dueling if he gets to his target, although thats a lot harder without making use of the speed of his W. His E seems like something to use to mitigate poke from the enemy and punish them if they try. They should make it's health cost low or not exist so it can be used as such. His ultimate wasn't changed, excpet for Dragon Pet, which there is no down sides to.

Overall, his kit seems overall... decent. His solo lane I think is overall unaffected since you mainly used your Q and E in solo lane and his E deals about the same base damage with the 0.6 AD ratio making up for the loss nearly, but his Q in a solo lane, especially Top, is deadly. Mordekaiser is gonna be a good dueler Top Lane, probably gone from Middle Lane, and we will have to see if this Bottom Lane experiment works. If it doesn't, they can just change his W a bit to bring him back home. By the way did I mention his now has a total AP Ratio of 260% at max rank. Thats Syndra's ultimate every 4 seconds if he can get all three hits off.

Buddy, his E deals half damage now... He generates far less shield than before. He is slower than before. He can't push and get turrets in solo lane with his W as before. He is definitely weaker than before in solo lane. And he would be destroyed in bot lane.

I am still thinking about builds. item 1306 item 3022 item 3056 maybe to make sure he gets to the target and deals the 3 hit combo?

his e also gets 60 % of his ad so the damage, factoring his base ad in is almost unchanged and will be better if you build the gunblade, sure his w is shitty, but the Q will bring so much more pain and his ult is unchanged now with a passive, we have to give the changes a chance before we bitch and complain for possibly zero reason at all; but those are just my thoughts on him currently

I would love to see details on what his Q applies. Cause if it would apply on hit and spell effect. Gunblades effectiveness is that much better. But that's not even the main reason to look at gun blade. The main reason to look at gun blade is the active. You have a Slow to help you right their.

I'm some what surprised that the possibility of a tank Mord was never mentioned in these threads. Considering his Max shield now scales with Max health. And his E generates 15% max shield on champion hit. It feels like he has a better ability to fulfill the Juggernaut Role that riot has classified him as.

As somebody who plays morde like a bruiser all the changes you highlighted there seem fine to counteract the lack of a w, and yes his q is an aa so it will apply onhits but not spells (like live) but he can do it 3 times with huge damage amps.

Then there is the whole tank morde thing, 25% of hp is his sheild which is just scary to think about; including a stacking sheild regen per champ hit (15% per champ hit on a 6 to 3 second cooldown, his sheild staying at a quarter left permanently along with his w in team fights and a pet dragon too.

He will be an unstoppable tank mage late game and he may be weaker earlygame but he will be relevant at lategame, even if behind just due to dragon alone. (rushing mid with dragons ghost a banner of command and a full team, your 100% pushing the lane quite far), especially when your ult lasts 70 seconds on a dragon with 4000 health and lots of damage.

His Q applies on-hit and on-spell effects. So Rylai's will slow by 40% and Luden's will proc alongside Lich Bane.

As someone who actually plays Morde in a solo lane, you're not thinking this through. His current W is quite powerful for a solo lane, allowing him to push and generate shield from a distance, giving him armor and MR, and allowing him strong, sustained damage throughout an extended fight. In this iteration, you can't use your W in a 1v1 fight. You are fighting with 4/5 of a champion if you don't have someone holding your hand. In my mind, that's terrible design. On top of that, your shield generation is nerfed and your Q AoE is now nonexistant, which also destroys your shield generation. But hey, he can get dragon ghost now, right guys?

His E grants a lot of shield what? His Q now deals much higher sustained damage than his previous W ever did. They basically threw everything his current W did onto his other spells except the bonus defenses. He has more damage overall, but is slightly more squishy. It doesn't accomplish what they aimed for however... which is another topic in itself.

I'm actually fine with the changes to his E. My problem is going to be his effectiveness. Having your "ADC" be easily kite-able with very little utility doesn't seem like a good idea. You're not going to be critting the opponent for 600 damage a shot, and positioning is going to be even more nightmare-ish than your typical ADC with such a short auto-attack range. He doesn't have an AD or AS steroid, but his Q is able to deal a good amount of damage. If you are able to CC an opponent and wail on them, you can deal damage. But, this is true for every champion in the game. If your opponent is stunned, then ofcourse it would be easier for you to kill them. Having it be mandatory to be effective just makes it unviable, and with little incentive to play it over a typical bot-lane ADC. The movement speed nerf is the nail in the coffin for me, though. Even your opponent's ADC will have a faster movement speed than you. and they can get away at the press of a button.

RIP Bruiser Mordekaiser. You will be missed.

item 3020 item 3152 item 3068 item 3001 item 3143 item 3151

I was really hoping they would transition him from a mage to a tanky fighter who can wade around a fight beating on people, bringing damage and destruction by his mere presence. I was disappointed.

I doubt it will count as a regular aa so it can't crit

Note that it only tells the differences to before.

Unless stated otherwise, I'm going to assume that Q will retain all effects it currently has, on top of getting the three-hit-triple-down mechanic.

Señor Karthus1 votes

Also I think item 3124 would be core item on him. Hybrid damage, life steal and spellvamp and attack speed to connect the 3 hits faster.

Nefas1 votes

You also cannot even use W without a partner nearby per CertainlyT. So there goes any of the tank stats from W for top lane Morde.

Tyaldan1 votes

This is what kills it for me, you should be able to use it on minions with no speedboosting, so that you can deal damage, heal, but cant chase down the enemy like you could if you cast it on an ally. Im fine with it, if, standing in the middle of lane, i can cast it on the jg sitting in the bush, so that they have a boost coming in. If its range isnt that super buffed, then it might not even be worth it to ever cast. Whats that? jgs already in view and the enemys running? heres a tiny ass speed boost because with them already running theres no chance its gonna do damage at all.

How do the shield changes affect him?

Is the inability to decay below 25% going to be significant?

Will it scaling off max hp instead of a flat amount based on level force morde to build hp?
