Who the fuck would ever take market or dematerializer over magic boots?

Honestly, it's not even a choice 90% of the time. Magic footwear needs to have legitimate competition.

I actually take Market on supp a lot. Helps to rush Redemption or other items if in a bad spot. Or maybe Tier 2 gold income item to help snowball.

"Helps to rush Redemption or other items if in a bad spot." You save 350 g with boots so your better off with boots unless you want early mobis to roam with.

I go market if I need to rush tabi.

Well, you see, a support's job is to support the team. So you buy what is most of immediate need for them. Mobi boots don't help in teamfights if they break out early and you're getting caught in them a lot, so you buy Redemption to heal from afar/or close.

It's not about saving money, it's about clutch saves.

But will you buy redemption without getting basic boots at least? Because if you buy basic boots before Redemption then the free boots rune puts you 300g closer to your redemption. More than market does. The only time i took market on sup was when I was rushing mobis because free boots doesnt allow that. So you didnt really get my point.

I did get your point. But I do believe you're not even giving mine a chance.

Do you know how often shit happens before 10 minutes in the game? All hell has usually broken loose before 10 mins. With first tower down typically at the 6-7 minute mark, every one is grouped and fighting over shit. What good good is waiting 10 minutes for free boots when you will 90% of the time need boots before then? I'd rather have extra gold income or SS or another clutch item sooner than free fucking basic boots, in most cases.

If there is a supp that really can benefit from having the mobi with increased speed, yes, I can see that being an option. But most supps don't need or default pick mobis.

Yeah let me go roam with magical footwear and no boots before 10min instead of taking future market/anything else which allows me to get mobis at 6-7 minutes in

A support playing Thresh with relic shield and an adc that started flaming in champ select.

or if you got a very poky lane and you don't want to waste mana shielding for every minion when you play taric

10 min is a LONG time to wait for immobile mages especially when games are mostly decided by 20 min.

I only take demateralizer if I know I'm going to be constantly zoned so that I can at least guarantee cannon minions. Spellbook, smite and demateralizer can be the difference between staying close in CS and getting blown out vs something like Teemo.

The boots are nice in a lane with kill pressure. Because of the timer discount. Future market can be great to back when it's a good time to back and still buy the things you need. Rather than making due or waiting out a certain gold total.

I've been taking market more and more on champs when I have that tree. It's like having an extra 200-ish gold on first back. If you're farming well, you make it back up in no time. And it's easier to get fed when you hit that first back spike about a minute or so earlier than your opponent expects it.

If I get fed two kills in top lane, I might hit my two-item power spike with upgraded boots as Urgot at around 18 mins or so (item 3022 and item 3071 ). My current record for both of those items with just regular boots was around 15 mins I think.
