After All That Has Evolved In This Game.. What Do You Miss The Most?

SO much has changed since I started back in S2. And even more if you started in Beta!

I am not here to argue whether or not changes were good or bad for the game, just to be a little nostalgic about some of the "old" gameplay and balance.

  1. I REALLY miss being able to place as many wards down as gold would allow me for support. Yes, the support items and changes were for the best.. but when you got that edge as support and had a bunch of gold to spend.. you could light the entire map up like a Christmas Tree! The advantage your team got (if you were smart enough) was Enormous!

  2. Look at my name.. I miss atmas a lot.

  3. I had a friend that loved warmog stacking mundo.. for one day i would love for him to be able to play that again. I really cannot describe the hilarity that was DrMundo item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083

  4. I started back in S2 and back then Nunu was a top tier support. I really miss that because that was the first champ and role I learned. Day 1 of S3 and that was gone :(

What are some things you miss? Even if those changes you probably admit were for the better.

I miss the old Karma.Karma I mean sure her new kit is okay, i just feel that back then Karma was a lot more than just a Ulti Q poke. She was a strategist, using up stacks of Mantra to heal her team or to shield her carry. She couldn't just press her Ult and Q and watch the entire enemy team get half healthed. But I mean thats just my opinion on the matter.

I miss when Akali was actually a respectable pick

I miss when you could buy DFG on Garen and your ult would execute at half HP

I miss when Fiora with ignite could instantly 100-0 you the moment she hit 6

I miss when Nidalee was playable in lane (actually, looking back I really don't)

I miss when Baron didnt take an entire team 5 minutes to kill and you could solo him in 30 seconds as DPS junglers

I miss not having Kalista in the game

I miss the charm of the old map

Blitzcrank Point and click pull Karthus when this guy was considered cancer Most of the old splash art, all the old lore. HoG,FoN,Atmas, Sword of the divine, Promote,Surge,Rally. A time where Flash wasn't seen as a must for everyone, and you'd get games with less than 3 flashes out of all champs.

Once I was at like 100 HP fighting a Lee Sin (a normal occurrence) then I hit my ult. If you don't know, it gave like 100% attack speed and lifesteal for 20 seconds. So he died and I was at full.

I really miss Soraka's ability to restore mana and Sona's stance mechanic. I understand why both of them were removed, but I would love an opportunity to play my first two champions again as I knew them. (Soraka is still one of my most-played champs, but the only reason I ever play Sona anymore is nostalgia.)

I mostly miss alot off the old items, like warmongs with +1300hp, FoN, Madrets...tankiness actually scaled into late with items, rather than beeing a snowball mid and dropping hard after carrys have 5+items... I also miss alot pre rework champs from back then, sivir as bruiser carry with perma-bounce, karma, hybrid-urgot... which remindes me of the absurd but pretty fun gunblade stacking time, i stacked it on every fucking champ i played and were happy. Nothing baits like a lee with 500+shield who heals for 1000-2000hp on his full combo.

I also really miss the jurnal of justice...

edit: nearly forgot surge, loved it on rumble turning overhead and suddenly beating the shit out of my supprised opponent

I miss Old Karma I feel that they remove her before her time to shine came.

  1. They remove her then they added Support item like that was what she needed as support.
  2. As for midlaner Karma she would of been OP against the assassin meta that came a bit later after her removal (she would of rekt them).
  3. Lastly she probably could of function very well in the top lane I mean shield for trade and heal for sustain, all she needed to do was wave clear and chill.

She was a mage but to me she was the best ap fighter maybe even ap juggernaut leaning more on offensive stat then defensive stat. I would even go as far as calling her a drain tank who have good survivability as long as they are doing damage.

That feel when Yi couldn't be stopped by Rammus or Blitzcrank cc, killed Trynd too fast for him to use his undying rage, could survive a Ryze snare under two nexus towers by using Zhonya's, and then simply W back to full HP after the destruction finally ends.

Haha I agree with the ward cap. As nice much as I agree with the change it was so nice to be able to ward as much as you wanted. Plus when really far behind it was so fun to sell everything but boots and as many wards as you could afford then go light up the entire map just for fun :D

I miss old AD Sion (love the new Sion though). As much hate as he got for being "useless," I remember a game where I was the bot lane ADC and spent about the first 2/3rds of the game farming bot lane and running away from fights. Then, when my entire team was dead and the enemy team had 2 fed guys (Rengar, Irelia) and Leona pushing down mid, I waited under the mid inhib tower dancing. When they tried to fight me I got a triple kill. My team was about as surprised as the enemy and I spent the rest of the game making the enemy run for the hills anytime I showed my face. I also remember regularly building about 4 actives (Youmuu's, Ravenous Hydra, Merc Scim, Randuin's) so I could axe anyone who said Sion was useless.

However, I probably miss Mordekaiser more. The new Morde is just too frustrating (for me and my opponents) to play.

¤ Being practically invincible as Singed with FoN, Leviathan, etc ¤ Old Sion's Arnold voice, "Who is your Summonah and vat does he doo?" ¤ I kinda miss legless Twitch waddling around, but I really love his updated look. ¤ The Dunkmaster build. RIP Wiggle's Lantern, the best item in the game. If you don't miss it you might as well play Mario.

I really miss Taric's old passive that gave him magic damage on hit based on his mana. It allowed for some really fun builds as top/jungle Taric to work.

those are pretty much the three change I miss the most, the last one is a shift in meta but it's still a change. Oh and also that brutal as fuck jungle in S1 where only a chosen few could roam in king (the diversity is much better now so that's good).

6 Sunfire Eve and Garen were always hysterical to watch.

Was it a good build? Nope, but still hilarious to watch other team try to figure out why they were taking damage.
